Dennis Miller's Smear Of Sandra Fluke Wins Our Most Outrageous Quote Of The Week Poll
Dennis Miller had some stiff competition last week but his sexist smear of Sandra Fluke handily won our Fox News Outrageous Quote of the Week poll. I think we can all agree it was a well deserved distinction for Miller.

Even Megyn Kelly had to acknowledge last night that there are credibility problems with the ObamaCare-victim ad paid for by the Koch-funded Americans for Prosperity. But that didn’t stop Kelly from reaching into her arsenal of disingenuousness to help use the victim, leukemia patient Julie Boonstra, as a weapon against President Obama and ObamaCare.

Stephen Colbert comedically hit back at Bill O'Reilly last night (with a bonus swipe at Sean Hannity). You could call it a matter of dueling charity auctions: O'Reilly's Super Bowl interview notes vs. Colbert's stolen microwave. Regardless of the outcome, we're the winners, at least comedically speaking.

Greg Abbott’s invitation to Ted Nugent to campaign with him has raised quite a few eyebrows. But not on Fox News. They didn’t even bother to report it.

The Hannity show covered the violence in Ukraine by – how else? – using it to smear President Obama. That’s not too surprising. But then Sean Hannity took it a few steps further and suggested that Obama is to blame for violence in Syria, Venezuela and elsewhere, too.

More than soul saving, televangelism is a form of entertainment for profit. And nobody knows entertainment for profit than Roger Ailes who, according to Gabriel Sherman's Ailes biography, "The Loudest Voice in the Room," sees Fox News as an entertainment as well as a real news venue. So despite his deep Christian faith (!), it's not beyond the realm of probability that Ailes, whose background includes theater, sees Fox's abundant Christian programming as entertainment as well as a shout out to Fox's evangelical audience. How else to explain Fox's seeming pre-occupation with after death experiences which are a staple of Fox & Friends. But it's just not America's morning celebration of vacuity that validates celestial voyagers. Last night, in featuring another traveler, Megyn Kelly told her audience that "sometimes you get a sign."

Bill O’Reilly followed up on his Girls Scouts “controversy” with an interview last night with a spokeswoman for Girl Scouts of the USA. The discussion began with spokeswoman Kelly Parisi explaining the innocuous tweet that caused pro-lifers to stage a “buycott” of Girl Scout cookies. But before long, O’Reilly was reprimanding the organization about the “homosexual overtones” of their former spokesperson.

Remember Kathleen Willey? She’s the nutjob who accused Bill Clinton of sexually harassing her, who insinuated he had her husband killed, who also blamed him for the burglary of her house and more. Judging from her rambling comments to Megyn Kelly last night, Willey hasn’t gotten any more credible in the years since. But that didn’t stop Kelly from giving Willey the kid glove treatment and downplaying her lack of credibility.
Read moreMike Huckabee Pushes Lie: Colorado Brady Amendment 'Not About Abortion'
Fox News constantly whines about liberal media bias. Yet, America's "fair & balanced" news network has no problem with allowing its hosts to promote the lies and propaganda of the anti-choice movement. Chief among Fox's stable of anti-choice mouthpieces is Mike Huckabee whose show comes straight out of the playbook of those who are waging a war on those libidinous women. Huckabee's show is not only a showcase for his, anti-choice lies, radical anti-choice views and attacks on Planned Parenthood; but a venue for promoting anti-choice laws which would force women to bear their rapist's child. Huckabee supports "personhood" legislation which defines "personhood" from the moment of conception and which would, thus, ban abortion, birth control, and IVF treatment. So it was no surprise that Saturday's show was an advocacy piece for a Colorado referendum which, while promoted as "justice" for pregnant women, is all about rolling back abortion rights.
