In case you had any notion that “civil” Fox Nation removed Ann Coulter’s “joke” about murdering Meghan McCain out of a concern for moral decency, then get a load of her appearance on Geraldo At Large Saturday night (4/13/13) in which she was asked to weigh in on the appropriateness of Anthony Weiner running for New York City mayor. And with her typical tact and sensitivity, Coulter went right for her next murder joke: comparing Weiner showing his “pecker” to Ted Kennedy having “killed a girl.” If you thought that host Geraldo Rivera found it tasteless or insensitive for the homicidal-humor loving Coulter to make such a joke – especially after the outcry over her last attempt at homicidal humor – think again.

Mike Huckabee opened his show last night with a call to implement the flat tax. With his folksy, avuncular tone, Huckabee took a mean-spirited swipe at lower earners: "Each April 15, I’m reminded just how different this day would be if we would implement the fair tax. The fair tax would not raise or lower our current taxes but it would change the way that we collect taxes from the current system of punishing productivity and rewarding irresponsibility."

Fox & Friends isn't just a happy morning chat show. Its inanity masks the reality that it is "one of Roger Ailes' primary vehicles to inject his venom into the media bloodstream." Rather than providing intellectual stimulation, it plays to ignorance and bigotry communicated by the curvy couch potatoes who are so not the Algonquin Round Table. Last week, during the right wing and Fox enabled "controversy," surrounding Beyonce's and Jay-Z's trip to Cuba, our favorite MENSA candidates, not surprisingly, criticized the trip because it was just so unfair that these entertainers could go to Cuba when "most of us can't travel to Cuba." (Awww) And then Brain (whoops Brian) Kilmeade provided us with a gem that surpassed the usual stupidity of Fox & Friends - and that's saying something because if this show excels in anything other than ratings. It's stupidity! 

The conservative Heritage Foundation will soon release a report on the supposedly prohibitive costs of immigration reform. The study has been criticized by conservatives but you’d never know that watching Cashin’ In host Eric Bolling “interviewing” Michelle Malkin yesterday. They ignored both the criticisms of the Heritage Foundation study and the conclusions of a wide range of economists that comprehensive reform would boost the economy.

Fear not, retirees! Donald Trump knows how hard it will be for you to get by on $205,000 and he’s standing up for you! And, you’ll be happy to know that while Fox hates Social Security, the “fair and balanced” network is right behind those “middle class” folks who would have a tough time living on $205,000 a year from their tax-advantaged retirement accounts under President Obama’s budget.

As NewsHounds Ellen reported, Fox News went into full frenzy freak-out mode over Melissa Harris Perry's benign comment about how we all bear responsibility for ensuring that children in our communities have proper care and educational opportunities. Fox "News," took her statement out of context and spun it into a vision of a dystopian future in which Commie jackbooted thugs will be taking America's children and indoctrinating them into the deviant world of the liberal and gay agenda. Not surprisingly, Fox & Friends, a bulwark against the forces of satanic Marxism, was on it. And to further validate Fox's jihad against Perry, Gretchen Carlson spoke with new Fox fave, possible Louisiana senate candidate, and mullah leader of the American Taliban religious right, Tony Perkins who is on a mission from God to ensure that American kids are raised by Jesus loving, homo hating, heterosexual parents and not that Commie "collective."

Dear Sean Hannity: I know you’ll never believe this but I really think that, for your own good, you seek professional help for your obsession with smearing President Obama. I know you hate him. Everyone who has spent more than 60 seconds listening to you knows you hate him. But digging up some old video of President Obama from the 2008 presidential campaign fumbling over his words because he couldn’t read his teleprompter or it had been stolen or whatever, especially given that you read a teleprompter during this same segment, makes you look – well, nuts.

If you've watched Fox News at all lately, chances are you've seen them attacking MSNBC's Melissa Harris-Perry over a 30-second promo in which she talks about the importance of thinking that "kids belong to whole communities." Clearly, she was more or less espousing the old "It takes a village to raise a child" maxim. But Fox (apparently taking its cue from Rush Limbaugh) has seized on the ad as an excuse to foam at the mouth that Harris-Perry is advocating for some kind of collectivist takeover of parenting. And the result? They've aired the ad a zillion times more than MSNBC has.

In addition to being the go-to place for persecuted Christians, Fox News provides warm support and validation for those parents who are, to use Fox's verb of choice, "outraged" over perceived affronts, by evil teachers, to conservative students and values. Recently, a conservative Texas mom, who has a problem with what she perceives as liberal bias in a Texas curriculum, was embraced by both Megyn Kelly and Fox & Friends. And yesterday, fresh on the heels of validating a conservative lad who claims that liberal Wisconsin teachers are bullying him, Megyn Kelly reported on the Wisconsin mom who alleges liberal bias in the classroom. This morning, the meme of liberal bias was reinforced on - wait for it - Fox & Friends - in their patented "Trouble with Schools" series. The latest "outrages" involve Wisconsin, a state where teacher unions fought the sainted GOP Governor Scott Walker. Coincidence or just more Fox News propaganda in support of an agenda?

In yet another Fox News discussion about that “controversial trip to Cuba” taken by Jay-Z and Beyoncé (and the possible role of President Obama), Greg Gutfeld was hardly a fair and balanced host of The O’Reilly Factor last night as he made a hammy show of laughing at and ridiculing his guest who clearly knew more about the subject of Cuba, the legalities of traveling there, its race relations and the rappers who visit there than either Gutfeld or the other guest.
