Cowardly Ted Cruz And Sean Hannity Pretend It’s ‘Harry Reid’s Shutdown’

Posted by Ellen · October 02, 2013 11:39 PM · 15 reactions

If Sean Hannity and Senator Ted Cruz really believe in the shutdown strategy they’ve long been advocating as a means to derail the Affordable Care Act, aka Obamacare, why are they now pretending it’s not theirs?

Bill O'Reilly Encourages Communication With Opponents - But Won't Debate Robert Reich?

Posted by Priscilla · October 02, 2013 3:44 PM · 8 reactions

We mere mortals are so blessed to have Bill O'Reilly share his deep thoughts with us in his daily colliloquy otherwise known as "The Tip of the Day." Last night, while pimping his new book, America's great sage told his viewers that even if you disagree with somebody, you shouldn't cut off all communication with them. While that sounds so noble, it does, once again, expose Bill's hypocrisy and inability to practice what he preaches in his pearls of wisdom.

Fox News Blames Obama For Making Government ‘Slimdown’ A ‘Shutdown’

Posted by Ellen · October 02, 2013 2:31 PM · 6 reactions

Fox News must be getting desperate for ways to spin the federal government shutdown to benefit their Republican home team. First, they pretended the shutdown was no biggie. Then, they called it a “slimdown.” Now, they’re pretending that President Obama is the one shutting down the government.

O’Reilly Exposes Ted Cruz’ Dishonesty

Posted by Ellen · October 02, 2013 8:30 AM · 9 reactions

The polls consistently show that Republicans are getting blamed for the government shutdown. Furthermore, the GOP cause for shutting down the government – undermining Obamacare – is not popular either.  So what’s a “no spin” pundit on Fox News to do? Blame the media! But in a discussion with the Tea Party shutdown "it" guy, Ted Cruz, O’Reilly used the media as a foil to reveal how Cruz’ phony Obamacare/Affordable Care Act showdown is failing.

Did Monica Crowley Lie Or Was She Just Woefully Ignorant When She Said President Obama Has Not Negotiated With GOP In Five Years

Posted by Brian · October 01, 2013 9:07 PM · 1 reaction

Just before President Obama spoke from the White House on a looming government shutdown, Monica Crowley appeared on Your World for some pre-trashing of the president’s words. In an angry voice, she said, “He will not compromise, he will not negotiate. It’s my way or the highway. This is the way he’s been, Neil, for the last 5 years. Why anybody on Capitol Hill or, frankly, anybody in America expects him now to suddenly change.”

George Will Joins Fox News

Posted by Ellen · October 01, 2013 8:42 PM · 8 reactions

George Will has left ABC News after 32 years and joined Fox News as a contributor. Although Will's climate-change denying will help him fit right in, I've got my doubts as to how happy he'll be with a network whose Number One Job is advancing a political agenda (and pretending otherwise).

Bill O'Reilly Visits The Daily Show

Posted by Ellen · October 01, 2013 6:05 PM · 1 reaction

Bill O'Reilly visited The Daily Show last night. As usual, the kidding was fun and sharp but with undertones of affection. These two are always funny together and this is no exception. The subjects were Syria, the government shutdown and more.

Fox News Website Says Shutdown Is 'Slimdown'

Posted by Priscilla · October 01, 2013 3:59 PM · 13 reactions

Propaganda is heavily dependent on words and phrases intended to convey a political message. As a propaganda outlet for the GOP right, Fox News is a master manipulator of language. Hence, the more inflammatory "illegal alien" is used rather than "undocumented immigrant" in Fox's reporting on immigration. The term "abortion inducing drugs" was used by Fox commentators during their biased coverage of the HHS birth control mandate when, in reality, the ACA doesn't cover any drugs that induce abortion. Fox uses phrases to advance a narrative, with racial undertones, that those who support higher corporate taxes and responsibility want to "take" money away from hard working, taxpaying Americans. While the government shutdown will affect many programs and people, the right wing thinks it's no big deal. And that's why, in what has to take the prize for creative use of language, Fox News has coined an alternate term for the government shutdown  - "SLIMDOWN."

Fox News Debunks Hannity's 'Obama Talks To Iran And Syria, Not To GOP' Talking Point While He Uses It

Posted by Ellen · October 01, 2013 2:29 PM · 4 reactions

Sean Hannity proved last night that Republican talking points are more important to him than the news, even when it's reported by Fox. Because even as he was attacking President Obama for negotiating with Syria and Iran, but not Republicans, Fox News was reporting otherwise.

On Hannity: Todd Starnes Exposes Creeping Sharia In National Park Service!

Posted by Priscilla · October 01, 2013 12:12 PM · 5 reactions

Who knew that the National Park Service is part of creeping Sharia. Well, thanks to the intrepid reporting of Todd Starnes, who is ever vigilant in the fight against Islamic indoctrination in the schools, we now know that OMG the National Park Service has produced videos which show young Muslim women talking about their faith. Since Starnes reported on "Sancho Panza's" (?!?) scorching expose in the aggregate website, Independent Journal Review, this outrage has gone viral in the usual dark places. So it's no surprise that Starnes would, once again, make an appearance on Hannity's dark world of racist and religious hatred in order to promote the basic Fox meme that Islam is disgusting and any attempt to show it in a positive light isn't fair & balanced. Ironic, don't ya think! Oh yeah, and Muslims should apologize for jihadist terrorism.
