Sean Hannity's Plan To Shut Down The Government Not Going So Well
You may recall that a few nights ago Sean Hannity grandstanded his proposal to shut down the government as he showed off his "principles" to Fox's newly-anointed presidential candidate for 2016, Dr. Benjamin Carson. Carson kinda sorta went along with the idea but he fell short of fully endorsing it. Thursday night (3/21/13), however, Ann Coulter swatted it away as nothing less than useless.

You can practically hear the angels sing every time Fox News mentions Ronald Reagan's name. But Reagan's son and the president of the Reagan Legacy Foundation, Michael Reagan, suggests his father might not be returning the admiration were he to be still walking amongst us. In a blunt, no-punches-pulled column for Newsmax, Reagan suggests Fox change its slogan from "fair and balanced" to "stale and predictable."

Now that Bill O'Reilly doesn't have Dr. Tiller to kick around any more, that doesn't mean that he's backing down from his nationally televised anti-abortion jihad which includes impugning the motives of women who have late term abortions. As he did during his attacks on Dr. Tiller, O'Reilly continues to infer that women who have late term abortions are just a bunch of slutty, stupid, and selfish sluts who "murder" their "babies" for any reason or no reason. Rather than trusting women, O'Reilly thinks that we have late term abortions, not because of a serious health or life impairing condition, but because we're having a bad hair day. I don't know if Bill's absolute misogyny stems from his wife having dumped him and married another guy; but it's clear that Bill has a problem with women, especially those who exercise their bodily autonomy which, in Bill's "traditionalist" Catholic world, is a great big sin - and Torquemada Bill won't let us forget it!
Read moreFox Host Urges Republicans To Boycott WH Easter Egg Roll
Fox News’ “objective” host Bill Hemmer didn’t just regurgitate Republican talking points yesterday. He came up with his own strategy for Republicans that he then pushed on Karl Rove: “I tell you what Republicans should do: they should boycott the Easter Egg roll on the first of April.”

This very weekend, gentle reader, a group of Tea Party activists is boycotting Fox News because they think it’s gone soft, especially since the last election.
The boycott, which lasts till tomorrow morning according to this article (h/t Headly) is linked to a group that runs a blog called Benghazi Truth! Send the message to FOX, the blogger exhorts. TURN HARD RIGHT -Benghazi, birth certificate - all of it, 24/7, like a serious news organization going after a politician which has always been the job of the media -or just go away.
Read moreTodd Starnes Outrage #1,877,984: Doing the Intercultural Stomp
This week, Fox's ever-horrified culture warrior Todd Starnes is taking up the cause of a student in an Intercultural Communications class at Florida Atlantic University, whose teacher told the class to write the name “Jesus” on a sheet of paper, put the paper on the floor, then stomp on it. According to Starnes’ article, student Ryan Rotela, a “devout Mormon” picked the paper up, put it back on the table, and told instructor Deandre Poole that the assignment was insulting and offensive. He then went to Poole’s supervisor to complain, and was suspended from the class.
Read moreBill O'Reilly & Adam Carolla Falsely Accuse Huffington Post Of "Implying" Carolla Is Racist
It's bad enough when Bill O'Reilly spreads his own toxic lies to his "folks." But when he validates his guest's lie it's even worse. Such was the case, Monday night, when Bill and one of his nasty peeps, Adam Carolla, falsely accused the Huffington Post of suggesting that Carolla is a racist. The article was a factually based recounting of Carolla's testy exchange with Democratic California Secretary of State, Gavin Newsome (Fox's Kimberly Guilfoyle's ex) during which Carolla, not even a college graduate let alone a sociologist, claimed that problem in the African-American community are due to fatherless families and lack of respect for education. Carolla suggested that blacks should emulate Jews if they want to be successful. Obviously, his analysis, is debatable but the Huffington Post didn't editorialize - although O'Reilly and Carolla claimed they did.

Grab the popcorn, News Hounds, there's a new Fox News civil war going on, this time in the Twittersphere. In one corner, we have Fox News contributor and hatriot, Mean Girl Michelle Malkin and in the other corner, Fox News fave, Birther Boy Donald Trump. This fight has all the class you could want. Birther Boy called Malkin a "dummy" and the hatriot retaliated by calling him a "smear merchant."
Read moreBill O'Reilly Reminds Us, Again, That's He's Such A Good Catholic!
I don't know if Bill O'Reilly is trying to convince us or himself that he's a good Catholic; but he sure does invoke his religion at every opportunity. His March 7th column was an interesting screed where Bill, once again, scolded everybody, including the Catholic Church. At the same time he made sure that his readers know that while he's a "sinner" (Ya think!) he's OK with Jesus because he attends weekly mass. Meanwhile, according to Gawker, he's trying to damn his wife's soul to hell! What a paragon of Catholicism!!!
Read moreRoger Ailes: The Elephant In The Room Holding Down The GOP
We've written before about how Fox News has become something of a detriment to its own cause. But in a great new column, Media Matters' Eric Boehlert nails it when he points to Roger Ailes' Nixonian-era posturing as the major culprit. As the electoral wing of the Republican party searches its soul about re-branding its message and reaching out to new and more diverse voters, the unofficial communications arm of the GOP over at Fox News continues with the same old, same old red meat for its old, white viewers.
