Fox Still Attacking 'Washed Up' Jim Carrey
For a guy Fox News keeps saying is a has-been comedian, they sure keep spending a lot of airtime talking about Jim Carrey over at “fair and balanced” central. After almost an entire week of attacking him over his Funny or Die video that mocked Charlton Heston and gun zealots, they now seem ready to spend this week attacking him over his response to Fox.
Read moreFox Regular: Public School Teachers Don’t Care About The Kids
Yesterday’s Bulls and Bears did its best to make mass school closures in Chicago look good by making protesting teachers look bad. But regular panelist Gary B. Smith went the extra public-education-hating mile by saying, “The teachers don’t care about the kids.” Fortunately, panelists Julian Epstein and Jonah Max Ferris pushed back on that. But not host Brenda Buttner.

Eric Deggans, of the Tampa Bay Times, appeared on C-Span2's Book TV to discuss his new book that looks at how the media deliberately divides and panders to prejudices for the sake of ratings. Fox News gets special attention with anecdotes about segments News Hounds readers will recognize: Bill O'Reilly's visit to Sylvia's restaurant in Harlem, the New Black Panthers on Election Day and more. Plus, Deggans talks about being targeted and attacked as a "race baiter" by O'Reilly and then meeting him.
Read moreA String Of Homophobic Tweets From Fox Contributor Erick Erickson
Newly-minted Fox News contributor Erick Erickson probably did little to help widen the Republican tent this week when he let forth a batch of homophobic tweets on the day the U.S. Supreme Court held oral arguments on the constitutionality of the Defense of Marriage Act. (h/t Media Matters)

Recently, the Washington Post’s Chris Cilizza ranked Florida’s Republican Rick Scott as the most vulnerable incumbent governor of the upcoming 2012/2013 election cycle. But you’d never know that from watching him on Your World two days ago where Neil Cavuto presented him as a job-making machine. It started with a Fox News Alert announcing that President Obama would be going to Florida to talk jobs. Next, we saw a graphic saying the jobless rate in Florida had fallen from 10.9% to 7.8% since Scott became Governor. Cavuto said, “Job creation has indeed been happening in his state.”
Read moreFox Nation Stands Behind Dr. Carson's Comments On Same-Sex Marriage
With Dr. Ben Carson in hot water over his comments suggesting homosexuality is a perversion, Fox Nation has joined up with Breitbart.com - those same people just caught in another lie this week - in order to defend their GOP savior. And, not surprisingly, they played the race card while they were at it.
Read moreMichelle Malkin Calls Robert Redford And Susan Sarandon ‘Human Emetics’
Sean Hannity and Michelle Malkin are very upset about the latest Robert Redford movie which is, essentially, a thriller involving former 60s radicals who have been living more or less normal lives for decades. Time describes the movie, The Company You Keep, as a film for "thoughtful adults" that "look(s) for psychological ambiguities within a First Amendment sympathy for the rights of those whose ideals may have led them to do wrong." But to Hannity - who has probably never been described as a thoughtful adult - this fictional film is “a tribute to the Weather Underground.”
Read moreJim Carrey Strikes Back At Fox News
Jim Carrey had some choice words for Fox News after it spent much of this week smearing him over his Funny or Die video mocking the NRA and Charlton Heston. Warning: Some of it may not be safe for work in that he switched the "o" in "Fox" for a "u." But here's an excerpt: In my opinion F** News is a last resort for kinda-sorta-almost-journalists whose options have been severely limited by their extreme and intolerant views; a media colostomy bag that has begun to burst at the seams and should be emptied before it becomes a public health issue.
Read moreFox & Friends Info On Planned Parenthood Sourced From Radical Anti-Abortion Group
The gang on the curvy couch of Fox & Friends are quite upset that the silly sequestration has resulted in the cancellation of White House tours which, they contend, cost far less than other wasteful programs being funded by this wasteful administration. Obviously, there are many programs that they could have cited, this morning, as examples of government excess. Yet, they selected funding for Planned Parenthood sex education, specifically in the western states. And they didn't confine their comments to just funding, the source for which was not identified. They whined about the"graphic" nature of the sex-ed which, supposedly, starts at the age of five. As Planned Parenthood sex-ed programs are the targets for the anti-abortion movement, I did a little research to find the source for this information. Turns out that it was taken from an article by the director of the radical American Life League, Paul E Rondeau. There should be no question about whether Fox News is the media arm for those who are fighting a real war on women!
Read moreDr. Carson In Trouble With His Comments About Gay Marriage
Ruh-Roh! Fox's anointed GOP savior, Dr. Ben Carson, is in a bit of hot water over the comments he made on the Hannity show a few nights ago. Specifically, Carson called marriage between a man and a woman "a well-established pillar of society" and added, "And no group, be they gays, be they NAMBLA, be they people who believe in bestiality - doesn't matter what they are - they don't get to change the definition." Not only did Carson offend a lot of people, some Johns Hopkins University medical students have called for him to withdraw as commencement speaker.
