Mike Huckabee is a good Christian so he wouldn't break that commandment about lying, right? Wrong! He told the Christian Post (OMG) that when Ted Nugent performed "Cat Scratch Fever," on Huckabee's Fox show, the lyrics were changed to make it more family friendly. Huckabee is lying!
Mike Huckabee, like his fellow aging, white, conservative Christian "traditionalist," Bill O'Reilly, has a problem with Beyoncé. He has described her lyrics as “obnoxious and toxic mental poison." But his criticism of the toxicity of Queen Bey's "toxicity" seems a tad hypocritical considering his friendship with Ted Nugent, a vile, racist musician of limited talent.
Huckabee's hypocrisy is blatant. While he criticizes Beyoncé's "vulgar, misogynistic, and violent material," he has no problems with Nugent's lyrics which include a vulgar and violent comment about how Pres. Obama is "a piece of shit" and a vulgar, violent, and misogynist comment about how Hillary Clinton should suck on Nugent's machine gun. (Talk about "toxic mental poison!")
And although Huckabee considers Beyoncé's performances to be unacceptable, at least she never got a visit from the Secret Service who spoke to Nugent after he said that he would be either dead or in jail if Pres. Obama were re-elected. And unlike Nugent, Beyoncé has not, as far as we know, been fooling around with underaged members of the opposite sex.
Minister Mike's double standard hasn't gone unnoticed. In addition to having been called out by Jon Stewart, he was asked about this during an interview with The Christian Post. Huckabee explained that it was all about "context." In defending his pal, who played his famous "Cat Scratch Fever" on Huckabee's Fox show with Huck playing back-up, Huckabee claimed that Nugent "changed" the lyrics. But here's the thing - Huckabee's suggestion that Nugent sanitized the lyrics is a GREAT BIG LIE. With the exception of Nugent doing some improvising during a chorus, the, uh, sexualized "context" of the lyrics, provided to Newshounds by yours truly, was front and center.
Huck thinks Beyoncé's lyrics are crude when Nugent, on a highly rated national "fair & balanced" "news" network, sang about stroking pussy. Really.
