Today, on America Live, host Megyn Kelly closed one of many reports on the Newtown shootings with, “It’s just important not to spend all day, every minute on this. You know, there’s only so much the human spirit can take.” So to uplift the spirits of her viewers, Kelly trotted out conspiracy-theorist extraordinaire Monica Crowley to attack the Obama administration with baseless speculation over Benghazi.
Kelly said, “Just to delve into politics seems like an escape.”
Yeah, especially when you can concoct something juicy for your Obama-hating viewers after a whole weekend of him looking good!
Today’s item on the menu: the virus with “impeccable timing” (as Crowley put it) that caused Hillary Clinton to faint, get a concussion and cancel her appearance before a Congressional committee investigating Benghazi later this week.
Kelly, with suspicion dripping from her voice asked, “What’s really going on?”
Of course, neither Kelly nor Crowley wanted to say that Clinton had not gotten a concussion. But that didn’t stop them from suggesting otherwise and noting that there had been “speculation” beforehand that Clinton would not testify before Congress about Benghazi.
Yet Even Crowley and her double-wide hair acknowledged that Clinton was likely to testify at some later time. This, after Kelly acknowledged that one of Clinton’s deputies would probably appear in her stead this week.
But, of course, there was still plenty of time to rev up the Benghazi fever for the viewers. And speculate about how this might all be about Clinton’s possible 2016 presidential candidacy.
Crowley said that the Inspector General’s report out today would probably contain some “mighty embarrassing” things for her and her department. “Understandable she doesn’t want to have to answer for it,” Crowley added. However, she also said that some of it might vindicate Clinton.
So there was no real news here, just some speculation from an Obama-hating pundit designed to malign Hillary Clinton’s potential 2016 candidacy. Ah, the Fox News viewers must be so relieved to see their favorite network get back to normal again.
