Martin Luther King’s right-wing niece gave a jaw-dropping “analysis” of President Obama’s Selma speech commemorating the 50th anniversary of “Bloody Sunday.”
Even Fox host Gregg Jarrett called Obama’s speech “very eloquent” and “beautifully written.”
However, hosting Alveda King for commentary all but guaranteed criticism. King, who was signed by Fox just in time to bash the speech, is well known to Fox as an Obama hater. But even so, you’d think she could have found something to like about Obama’s powerful speech.
Jarrett said, “What caught my attention at one point – and there were a great many fine points to be made – but the president said, ‘I reject the notion that nothing has changed in 50 years.’ Prejudice and discrimination back then, he said, were endemic. They are not now. They are more the exception than the rule. Would you agree?”
King, who was not at the Selma march, didn’t answer the question. She must have been too eager to launch into her abortion rant.
KING: I listened very intently to the president and to Congressman Lewis. I could almost see my father there, on that Edmund Pettus Bridge, on Bloody Sunday, with Congressman Lewis and so many others: Hosea Williams, James Orange. And my heart is deeply touched.
I also heard what the president did not say. Of course, many things have changed. And we can admit that. And we’re glad that some things have changed. I’m so delighted that we can all vote. This is America. And I urge everyone to get out and vote. However, what the president did not say, there is a whole group of people – over 55 million – who have been denied the right to vote because they’ve been denied the right to live. The little babies in the womb. Legally. What has changed in the last 50 years: 55 million babies have legally lost their lives by abortion. And denied the right to vote. And yet the largest abortion provider, Planned Parenthood is getting $2 million from our tax dollars every day. That’s one thing that has changed.
While King was worrying about unborn fetus’ right to vote, she ignored what Obama had laid out as serious concerns about setbacks in voting rights for people actually qualified to vote: living, breathing grownups.
Watch it below, from today’s Fox News.
“…hosting Alveda King for commentary all but guaranteed criticism. King, who was signed by Fox just in time to bash the speech……”
And mark my words: any THINKING (including me) who posts here knows very well that media godfather Herr Goebbels II (i.e. Murdoch) and his faithful elephant-sized toady Jabba the Ailes (i.e. Roger Ailes) obviously made Alveda King AN OFFER SHE COULDN’T REFUSE!
I hope she enjoys her paycheck because FOX “news” will certainly enjoy using her (since her name is King and she’s African-American who always finds a way to bash Obama). If it wasn’t for these factors, FOX “news” wouldn’t give her the time of day.
Obama’s speech was outstanding and very stirring. But the very fact that she refused to give him any props for it and, instead, started mentioning other people’s names was a heads up as to where she was heading with her answer. I thought, okay, now commence with your usual Obama attacks, Ms. King. However, heading into the realm of “abortion” was absolutely jarring. I can’t believe that she actually went into that particular discussion about Selma with the plan to bring up abortion. If nothing else, King showed us exactly why she was hired by FOX “news” – because she is willing to (as Joseph West said) trade on her King name and will maneuver into non-sequitur statements for the sole purpose of going after President Obama. And her also being against LGBT civil rights is a bonus for FOX “news”.
Btw, I doubt FOX “news” will ever tell its viewers but, of those “55 million who have been denied the right to vote because they’ve been denied the right to live”, 2 of them belonged to Alveda King. She would have had a 3rd abortion but she couldn’t get anyone to pay for it.

Perhaps Alveda might tell us how many of those “55 million babies” would be behind bars or been put to death (whether through the death penalty or rogue cops).
Perhaps Alveda could tell us how many of those “55 million babies” would’ve been killed thanks to Dubya’s little wars.
Perhaps Alveda could tell us how many of those “55 million babies” would be living below the poverty level and would be functionally illiterate.
Of course, this wretched excuse for a (barely) human being—whose sole fame comes from trading off her famous last name (at least Paris Hilton did something to merit her fame; sure she used her name to get in the door, but she did more than just use her name after that)—would never answer any of that because she has NO answers (just like all *con*servatives).
Get on with it already, you insulting, pathetic remnant of a once great family. You are an embarrassment to the name and to the country.
Leave it to fox-nonsense to drag this empti-headed buffoon on the air.
