When A Fox Poll Shows Too Much Approval For President Obama, O’Reilly Makes Up A Reason To Call It Skewed

According to the Bill O’Reilly School of Political Polling, mentioning President Obama’s name in a polling question brings about skewed results.

In his Talking Points Memo called “Are You Safe?” last night, you can probably guess what O’Reilly’s conclusion was and why.

But some of O’Reilly’s reasoning was quite a surprise.

Apparently, there’s a new Fox poll out which found only 19% of registered voters thought Obama has a “clear strategy for defeating ISIS.” 67% said the federal government is doing a fair or poor job of “reducing threat of terrorism from Islamic extremism.”

But when asked whether or not they approve or disapprove of President Obama’s policy on terrorism, 42% approve and 53% disapprove.

Well, that’s way too much approving for O’Reilly. So rather than ask a pollster or even a sociologist for an explanation, O’Reilly came up with his own conclusion - one that he seemed to pull out of his you-know-what:

O’REILLY: Now that makes no sense. But here’s why the answer was put forth. There are a number of Americans who simply will not say anything negative about President Obama, himself. So when his name – not the Obama administration, but his name – appears in a poll question, the results are skewed.

Most folks understand Islamic terrorism is not being dealt with aggressively right now… Yet they retain an emotional bond with Barack Obama. So that’s what you’re seeing there.

Really? I think I’m seeing something entirely different. But the description I'd give it is not safe for work.

Watch it below, from last night’s The O’Reilly Factor.

I don’t believe any polls, because most are fixed to encourage voters for their candidate. I use my God given common sense. Unlike democrats who are sheep that follow whatever a communist THUG tells them to vote for. I can think for myself.

The mind-reading powers of the rightwingnut on display again . . .

It is also true that there are a number of Americans who simply will continue to watch Bill O’Reilly, no matter how ridiculous his commentary becomes. Congrats to you, Bill, on continuing to search for new lows in whatever it is that you do.

While it is true that there are a number of Americans who simply will not say anything negative about President Obama, the same can be said about a number of Americans who will never say anything positive about President Obama.

Bill and Fox News for example.

I wonder how Junior O’Reilly keeps a straight face during his nonsense. Did he inherit this Paranoid Bigotry from his Dear Old Dad? The Senior O’Reilly’s favorite President was no doubt,—- as Archie Bunker would say—- Richard E. Nixon.

The man is a humorist. Who knew? No sane human being could propose such a theory and expect anybody to take it seriously.

Ever had a conversation with someone who follows BOR while observing the level of integrity possessed by same?
If so multiply that number by thousands and one finds the justification for this fraud’s existence in a role on Fox News.

When I heard BOR explain his reasoning for that last night I just about fell out of my chair!
Just when you think he can’t say anything crazier!

He does!!!

LOL, truman – endless reruns of “Red Eye” would definitely be extreme punishment.

Really, BOR?! So then I guess the logic would follow that whenever Bush’s poll numbers were near that same 40ish % (despite all the bad emanating from his administration), it was only because there’s a number of Americans who simply wouldn’t say anything negative about President Bush making his approval % also skewed too far to the upside? Hmm, I don’t recall BOR making this same ass-pulled observation back then.

It’s just another example that shows BOR is not and will never be a true “fair & balanced” analyst. His personal ideology and his/his employer’s political agenda won’t even allow him to concede that a poll result could possibly give Obama a decent approval rating. What BOR is loathe to admit is that, despite all the Obama bashing done by BOR, his conservative guests and the other FOX “news” talkers, there’s a large portion of America who isn’t buying into all of their attacks. That poll shows that BOR and the FOX “news” wall of hate and misinformation isn’t as effective as they would like it to be.

A 42% approval rate for our President is much too high for any Fux Noise poll. Jabba the Ailes should suspend the pollster without pay for six months and make him watch endless reruns of Red Eye.

So I guess no poll should mention President Obama's name in a question. Ever.
