Report: Roger Ailes Will Soon Be Removed From Fox News

BREAKING: According to New York Magazine's Gabriel Sherman, the Murdochs have decided to remove Roger Ailes from Fox News and the only question is whether it will be before the Republican convention ends this week or after.

From New York:

Roger Ailes's tenure as the head of Fox News may be coming to an end. Rupert Murdoch and sons Lachlan and James — co-chairmen and CEO, respectively, of parent company 21st Century Fox — have settled on removing the 76-year-old executive, say two sources briefed on a sexual-harassment investigation of Ailes being conducted by New York law firm Paul, Weiss. After reviewing the initial findings of the probe, James Murdoch is said to be arguing that Ailes should be presented with a choice this week to resign or face being fired. Lachlan is more aligned with their father, who thinks that no action should be taken until after the GOP convention this week. Another source confirms that all three are in agreement that Ailes needs to go.

Wow. Just wow.

The Murdochs better remove the Nixon Trainee Ailes now, or face more women coming forward, and telling the masses about his “table” manners.

NOTE TO FEMALE STAFF/EMPLOYEES/INTERNS AT FOX “NEWS”

It’s time to call Carlson’s attorney and tell her everything about this fool, and others. Call Smith Mullin, P.C. at (973) 783-7607. Pass the number to anyone who is willing to talk. Ailes MUST GO NOW!

Thanks, David – it will sure be interesting to see how this all turns out.

And, in addition to Ailes, I’d like to see the Murdochs take a look at dumping Daddy Douchey too. He’s Ailes’ lapdog and leads a show that is propaganda-driven with very little actual “fair & balanced” info being provided to the folks.

dd, from what I understand her Faux contract still applies to her even though she’s no longer a Faux employee. But her lawyers claim that in her Faux contract, nowhere is Roger Ailes name mentioned.

As Ellen noted below, she is suing just Ailes. What I wonder is, since she’s not suing FOX “news” itself and she was no longer an employee when she filed the lawsuit, is she still held to the tenets of her employment contract with FOX “news” that requires a closed door arbitration process (and, I assume, a non-disclosure on that private arbitration)? It would shine a big light on the problem of sexual harassment in the workplace if this were to play out in the public.

I’ll wait till it actually happens before I knock the top off the bubbly. The man will not go quietly – it’s way more than a job to him – and I’m sure he has kept the negatives and the voice recordings of his dealings with The Wrinkled One over the years…

d d, yes she is only suing Ailes personally. I don’t know that firing him admits guilt in her case, per se. But it certainly doesn’t look good.

Just a guess, but if he is replaced I think they’ll select Bill Sammon who is Fox’s vice president of News and Washington managing editor. If he is, then nothing is going to change. I am curious to see if Steve Doocy will be fired.

I do have a question if anyone knows, is Gretchen only suing Ailes and not Fox and/or News Corp? I ask this because if they do fire him that would be admitting guilt before the trial.

Well Scott Baio is done speaking at the RNC in Cleveland. He’s not doing anything. Maybe he could take over. Joanie could be his secretary, Richie can make the signs, Fonzie can do the interviews…

If they’re really dumping him, they’ll wait until at least after this convention, and possibly until after both conventions. They won’t want to upstage their coverage of either party’s week in the sun.

Assuming Sherman is correct (and I believe he is), it will be interesting to see how the channel maintains its consistent talking points. My thinking is that they’ve effectively internalized Ailes’ thinking. But it would be something to see Fox News go rudderless.

So — who’s the pick as his successor?

My guess: Corey Lewandowski.

He apparently knows how to work the power brokers in right wing media/politics: hell — Drumpf is still taking advice from Lewandowski AFTER he fired him as campaign manager.

Plus, as Lewandowski is currently a commentator on CNN, this would fit with that other CNN (aka Fox Lite)-to-Fox transfer, Lou Dobbs . . .

.

Wow is right! This would be good news. But, until then, here’s a statement from 21st Century Fox: "This matter is not yet resolved and the review is not concluded.”

I would love to think Fox will fail or become more reasonable. Anyone that has been to right wing web sites knows there are plenty of people that can take over the propaganda machine. Anyone that has read the comments at those sites know there are some really racist, despicable people that inhabit the earth and will be willing viewers of the bull that Fox peddles.

Good riddance Jabba. Hope you find retirement fulfilling.

Well at least Roger has the backing of his fellow Sexual Harasser, Bill O’Reilly Jr.

Wrinkled Rupert will sugarcoat this mess. Pay off Jabba the Ailes’ bloated contract (everything about this guy is bloated…..salary, waistline, ego). Give Jabba some title like special assistant to Wrinkled Rupert. After Jabba’s bloated presence is no longer felt at Fux Noise, how many presently-cowed employees will speak out against him?

Any truth to the rumor Murdoch has declared Roger Ailes’ roofie ‘recipe’ corporate property and demanded it be placed in serial philanderer Rupert’s personal care? 😉
