For a little Labor Day amusement, check out our latest crop of Fox News outrageousness and see if you can decide which one should win the title of Most Outrageous.
I have a feeling there will be a clear winner this week. But that doesn’t mean there aren’t plenty of strong contenders.
Here are the nominees:
Howard Kurtz, throwing stones at Univision anchor Jorge Ramos from the glass house of Fox News:
“Hey, Jorge, if you want to warn the world about Donald Trump, fine. Quit your job and go campaign against him. But stop using the cloak of an anchor to disguise your advocacy as journalism.”
“[P]olice aren’t shooting innocent black men. And when they do, they’re held accountable for it.”
Dr. Keith Ablow, gushing over Trump’s boast about his penis size during a primary debate:
“Freud would have been standing up, like applauding, standing ovation. To be able to address such an intensely personal issue and say, ‘Listen, there’s no problem in that department,’ to me that showed an incredible degree of psychological strength.”
Fox News contributor and Roger Ailes attorney, Susan Estrich, smearing reporter Gabriel Sherman ahead of his major exposé about sexual harassment allegations against former Fox CEO Ailes:
“Gabe Sherman has made clear that nothing will stand in the way of his vendetta against Roger Ailes, and he will use any woman he can find—no matter how clearly and deeply troubled she is—to try to concoct allegations against Mr. Ailes.
[…] But Gabe is running out of women he can use and abuse. Ultimately, it will be clear that the real enemy of women is Gabe Sherman.”
Mike Huckabee, ironically praising America's freedoms and liberty – while attacking quarterback Colin Kaepernick for exercising them:
"I mean, I think we ought to take a certain NFL quarterback, ask him where he’d like to go and send him there with all of these liberals who somehow resent this country.
[…] They want to talk about every sin we’ve ever committed but they fail to point out that this is the country, the light on the hill, that people have been drawn to like a magnet because they know when they get here, they can be free."
Newt Gingrich, using his special white-guy insight into the black community:
"Donald Trump is the first Republican I can remember who is explicitly saying to the African American community, things can be better, but not with Democrats in charge. If he continues to say it and if he has the courage to go back to places like Chicago and say it, I think he’s gonna get far more votes in the black community than any other Republican in modern times."

And in other news, Wretched Gretchen has settled with FOX for $20 million. I haven’t read as of yet whether there is a non-disclosure agreement but it would be typical for there to be one in the settlement agreement. Looks like Gretchen and Ailes/FOX didn’t want to duke it out in a public courtroom setting.
Btw, Ailes is going to be trying to sue Gabriel Sherman/NY Mag for libel and Greta Van Susteren has left FOX “news” as of this morning. Droopy Dog Hume will be taking over her time slot for the time being
