Neil Cavuto: Obama’s Intentions Are Looking Sinister

Posted by Brian -5pc on April 02, 2012 · Flag

To finish Your World on Thursday (3/29/12), Neil Cavuto ripped President Obama for PetroChina surpassing ExxonMobil as the worlds biggest publicly traded oil producer.  Not only did Neil Cavuto suggest that it’s President Obama’s fault, he further suggested Obama is a bigger enemy to our country than China.

Cavuto said:

“So China taking over green batteries, bad. China battering our oil guys, good. Look, the President won’t connect the dots, so allow me to.

An American oil giant has just been usurped today. By a Chinese upstart, and the President’s OK with it. The Chinese sweet talking the Canadians for their oil after the White House all but shuts down the Keystone Pipeline to that oil, and he’s OK with it. So PetroChina replaces ExxonMobil as the worlds biggest, publicly traded oil producer, and that’s fine… And China outspending western companies to acquire still more oil reserves, and that’s fine.

But allowing American oil companies to do even a fraction of the same on a fraction of the land in this country, that is not fine.”

After continuing the “fine/not fine” bit, Cavuto moved in for the rhetorical kill.

…”It’s not right to use the United States government as a prop in a foreign economic war you only want to half-fight, Mr. President.

You’re either all in or you’re all out, and right now, you’re just out. Way out. Out of bounds, out of ideas, out of money, and out of anything remotely approaching logic. Selectively outraged over China taking over technologies that have yet to prove themselves. But saying not a peep over surrendering the very technologies in the U.S. of A that have proven themselves.

Either find a better argument or at least a better villain. Because right about now, it’s not China whose intentions are looking sinister. Look in the mirror, Sir. it’s yours.”

How is it President Obama’s fault that China’s oil company has overtaken ExxonMobil? As American Progress notes, Obama’s energy plan includes boosting production of oil and gas as well as energy efficiency and green energy. Even worse, what has Obama done to make Cavuto say his intentions look “sinister” other than to have a difference of policy?

Apparently Neil thinks it is OK for a President to override pending legal matters in order to make Exxon’s bottom line better, in other words choosing corporations over state’s rights. Yeah, that’s the Republican way.

Partisan America is a much worse enemy to the USA than another country’s oil company. Neil and his Fox cohorts are a massively destructive force in this country. But they choose their ratings over patriotic behavior every time.

Goodness — from the way Craputo’s talking, it almost sounds as though he wants White House (read: gov’t) influence into the affairs of a private corporation.

Kneel, why do you hate free-market capitalism?

“You’re either all in or you’re all out…”

Well, that’s not true. You can be half in and half out…or 3 quarters out and 1 quarter in….or 2 thirds in and 1 third out….or 4 sixths out and 2 sixths in. There’s lots of possibilities.

Cavuto blames Obama because PetroChina surpassed ExxonMobil as the worlds biggest publicly traded oil producer.
