Megyn Kelly destroyed her credibility (assuming she still had any) yesterday as she revived Fox's old Swift Boat smears against John Kerry as part of what was purportedly a straight news account that he may be tapped as Secretary of Defense.
Kelly described Kerry as having been “at the center of a controversy… when the Swift Boat Veterans For Truth group challenged Sen. Kerry’s record as a war hero and slammed his testimony before a Congressional hearing back in 1971 claiming it was false, misleading and impugned their reputations.”
Well, true enough. But somehow “objective” Kelly forgot to mention just how much the Swifties have been discredited. She also “forgot” to point out how they were funded by the biggest Republican campaign donor in Texas during the latter part of Kerry’s campaign against Texan President George W. Bush.
Then came Trace Gallagher to report on Kerry’s “controversial” anti-Vietnam War activism, including his testimony to Congress about atrocities. For good measure, he added Kerry’s “stuck in Iraq” joke that Fox relentlessly attacked.
Fair and balanced? What a joke!
