Mark Levin's Pitch For Blacks To Vote Republican Is Insulting

Mark Levin went on a tirade about all the wonderful things the GOP has done for African Americans. Unfortunately for his thesis, Levin’s subtext was that blacks are just too stupid to get it.

Levin visited the Hannity show last night to do his part to get out the disaffected conservative vote, which was the show’s focus.

Right at the beginning, Levin undermined his later contention when he smeared Al Sharpton. After a clip of Obama calling into Sharpton’s radio show was played, Levin sneered, “I didn’t know Al Sharpton could speak in complete sentences and I’m still not certain that he can.”

Hannity didn’t object. Not long after, he complained, “I often point out that during every election, I see the Democrats play the race card. …What are we to make of that tactic? How should they (Republicans) respond?”

Levin offered this stuck-in-the-sixties diatribe as a defense of Republicans vis-à-vis race:

What we’re to make of it is this is a hateful race-baiting party that has really no good ideas, let alone new ideas and I hope African Americans around the country understand that the Democrat Party has always used them. The Democrat Party stood for slavery against Lincoln. It stood for segregation – all the way up from the Civil War into the 1950s and 60s. The first Civil Rights Act was actually 1957, Dwight Eisenhower. He sent the Army into Arkansas to open up that school when a Democrat governor was blocking the doorway, Faubus

You can look through the 1964 Civil Rights Act. Most Republicans voted for it. The 1965 Voting Rights Act – most Republicans voted for it. You can look at FDR’s first nominee to the Supreme Court, Hugo Black, was a former lawyer for the Klan in Alabama. You can look at Robert Byrd, that wasn’t that long ago when the Democrats rallied behind him and made them their majority leader in the senate – former Klansman.

Republicans don’t have a history of lynching anybody. They don’t have a history of blocking school doors. They don’t have a history of racism of any kind. And for once, I’d like a Republican to stand up and rub the Democrats face in their real history.

Besides the fact that Levin can’t seem to think of anything the Republicans have done for African Americans in the last 50 years (while accusing Democrats of having no new ideas), the underlying assumption is that if African Americans don’t vote Republican (which they don’t), they must either be too stupid or too ignorant or too gullible - or all three - to know better.

But Levin clearly doesn’t have a very sensitive hypocrisy detector. In the same segment in which he complained about President Obama being “very divisive,” Levin said that Obama’s “full Mussolini” will come out after the election. “He’s going to do everything he can in the last two years of his presidency to further screw up the country,” Levin predicted.

And just to prove how he’s such a uniter, not a divider, Levin concluded his ranting about how awful the Democrats are with, “They need to get a good swift kick in the ass in this election.”

“Well said,” Hannity said approvingly.

Watch it below, from last night's Hannity show, and see why Levin almost certainly did nothing to help get out the black vote for Republicans.

And your point to this article is? He is right, and the majority of the black community are not paying attention, they don’t see how these guys are using them. While Al Sharpton, and Jesse Jackson and Eric Holder encourage young blacks to engage in unlawful acts as revenge against some imagined hate, Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton, Eric Holder go home to their cushy homes, and their warm beds which they achieved from living in this oppressive America. Heck the women of this country, (liberal) don’t see how they are being used. Mark Levin is a very smart man, knows his history, understands what is going on here, does his homework, while the rest of the liberal media kisses the *(&9 of this administration. We all lose in the end if something isn’t done. But all of you seem to be stupid to understand it, or you are so far under the sand your missing it.

I love it when the so called “progressives” get a dose of reality. The only thing more stupid than their policies are the dumbasses that actually believe their own drivel. Stay classy, lying sacks…..

Stereotypical article, featuring race baiting and attacking straw men. The same old, tired slander from a bitter, malignant, poop-flinging dead-ender.

And Levin is waaaaaay to stupid to vote Democrat .

Even well to do black people owned black slaves back in the 1800’s.

That’s how stupid black people are today.

WhO cares about the black votes? Their probably to lazy to break away from their couches to pull the (D) lever.

Welfare checks will show up the same as on time.

Its a lot easier to lie and propagandize if they “Are watching FOX for you”. Their deception might be simpler to spot if people watched for themselves. How is that old Georgi Soros doing for you there, tiny dog? Enjoying all that NAZI tainted money from the killer’s handmaiden?

I’m not seeing a problem here. Why don’t people watch for themselves. Its the Democrats that contend its base is too stupid to get an ID despite most of them having an ID.

If Blacks ARE too “stupid” to know who and what to vote for, then who’s responsible for them being so under-educated as a whole? Who has been in charge of the educational system for the last 50 years? Why, the PROGRESSIVES, AKA the LIBS.

There is nothing mention by Mark Levin, saying blacks are to stupid to vote for a republican, on the Hannity Show. The author of this article is an idiot and a liar.

Literally everything Levin said is true. Playing the race card because Sharpton is demonstrably stupid is really really old.

One good thing the Republicans have done in in the past 50 years? How about the Civil Rights Act of 1964?

The Party of Abraham Lincoln does need to be better at getting the point across that you do not need a Party that “does something for you” — because there are always strings attached. Freedom, not dependency is the answer for everyone, regardless of ethnicity.

From my essay on Leftist elitism:

“…Slave-holders in the Antebellum South echoed their Aristocratic forebears in believing that they were doing black slaves a service by managing their lives and making their physical abilities productive. Otherwise, they would be living the ‘short, brutish’ lives of savages. This idea is carried forth to this day as the Party of Jim Crow still holds that blacks and other minorities cannot take care of themselves w/o help from whites [and minorities who have been properly vetted] who are are smarter and know better. The idea that minorities could be empowered to see to their own personal and economic security is viewed with a combination of fear and derision by the Left.”

Has this person really read her own post? I saw nothing about how the republicans have said that blacks are too stupid. Here is what I think: It doesn’t take much to get a photo ID, a trip to the drivers license office usually does it. just take your SS card and a copy of your birth certificate. “Oh. you’re here illegally? Sorry you won’t be voting this year…” I mean crap if you want to be an American, do it legally.

Mark Levin is 100% right, in what he actually said. You’ve taken something he said, turned it into something he didn’t, and then attacked what he didn’t say. Shame on you. Anyone can go back and listen to what he said for yourself in his podcast, he opened the show with this bit so you won’t have to listen very long if you don’t want.

The race card WORKS. I know so many whites whose politics completely balance on the view that, because they vote Democrat, they can’t be racist … as if there is some mark on their forehead that identifies them as one of the non-racist people in a world filled with racists. (Advice: Don’t go to Ferguson at night. I suspect you will quickly discover that there is no mark on your head.)

Whatever the Democrats have “done for black people” in the last 50 years, they should stop doing. I don’t think that the black community can survive much more of that kind of “help”. This article is a mess of pandering and regurgitation of unfounded racial memes.

Sounds like the author missed the content completely, pretty lame reporting, go back to school loser.

Interesting, I can’t seem to find where Levin called anyone stupid. But I’ll say it, the author of this article is too stupid to vote republican whether he be black or white. Wouldn’t it be racist to suggest that a political party ‘do something’ to ‘get out the black vote’? i.e. treating blacks differently?

I fail to see anywhere in this “article” that Levin “Suggests Blacks Are Too Stupid To Vote Republican”.
I find one line written by “Ellen” that says “the underlying assumption is that if African Americans don’t vote Republican (which they don’t), they must either be too stupid or too ignorant or too gullible – or all three – to know better.”
Nice try though.

Groucho was a clever man. His “wacko” schtick brought him fame and fortune.

Mark Levin, OTOH, was born missing a few billion neurons in his cranium. His psychotic ravings are no act. This escapee from Nurse Ratched’s ward wanted to be a Philadelphia shyster. But he failed at that and instead went to work for Saint Ronald Reagan.

I don’t know why anyone takes Levin seriously. And I also don’t know, at this point, why these Tea Party scum are working up a lather over the upcoming election. The black vote, the Hispanic vote, the women’s vote… none of that matters now. it seems a forgone conclusion to me now that the Senate will change hands (is this heresy to say that on Newshounds?).

The outcome was sealed with the administration’s handling of the Ebola crisis. That was the nail in the coffin, on top of all the other missteps and an often-missing president.

Finally, the less I say about Sharpton, the better considering my previously stated opinion of this fraud… while those who run this forum and many who visit here have so much respect for the “Rev.” (You’d think he is the reincarnation of MLK!).

I happen to think it’s sad that Obama feels it necessary to go on Sharpton’s radio show.

It was funny on Tuesday when Slanthead Hannity kept saying he was surprised that Sharpton actually had a radio show. Hannity thought he was simply “the president of NBC News.”

Actually, Sharpton does have a clipped speech pattern, but he was somewhat coherent when I would hear him on the radio (the defunct WWRL here in NYC carried an hour of his daily show); I don’t watch MSNBC.

Give Sharpton a bullhorn and that’s another story. And I predict we’ll be hear a lot more of him through that bullhorn now that news is leaking out that the Ferguson cop may have been justified.

The Groucho Marx Impersonator has a radio show? We thought it was an informercial for his books that he hustles on a regular basis.

Groucho and his BFF Hannocchio complain too much. Have they lost income because of President Obama, no! These two clowns are have made more money under Obama. And they know it, the frauds.

And I thought stupidity was one of the major factors in causing people to vote Republican.

Great job of twisting history around, Mr. Levin. And BTW, it’s the DEMOCRATIC Party, you asshole. Should we start calling people like you members of the Republic party?
