On her radio show today, Fox News contributor Laura Ingraham ran through a litany of ills the Obama administration has wreaked on America, in her view. The list was familiar: stimulus, health care, immigration, etc. But then she added “diseases” to the list. I think we all know that she meant Ebola.
Ingraham’s remark came in the middle of a diatribe against the Republican establishment that, according to Ingraham, is at least partly responsible for Obama’s election in the first place. That same establishment, Ingraham thought, may soon push Jeb Bush for 2016.
“He’s running. He’s running for the presidency. Let’s drop the pretense,” Ingraham said. She was obviously unhappy at the prospect. Then, after listing a number of Obama-related woes she said have befallen the country since his election, Ingraham said:
We have now diseases coming into this country that we haven’t had to deal with in a long time – all because we have Barack Obama as president. The Republican establishment helped deliver us Barack Obama.
I did not hear her say who would have made a better Republican candidate.
