Fox’s Jeanine Pirro developed a severe case of amnesia or selective recall last night when she “forgot” the long history of liberal women being harassed by Fox News as she played the Conservative Martyr.

White House spokeswoman Mercedes Schlapp was hardly a vision of America First last night as she suggested it was more important that Donald Trump make nice with Russian President Vladimir Putin during their upcoming summit than to confront him about Russia’s hacking and other meddling in our election. Not surprisingly, Fox host Jeanine Pirro didn’t let that alarming stance interfere with her cheerleading for Trump.

The hiring of former Fox News co-president and Hannity pal Bill Shine as deputy chief of staff in charge of communications not only furthers the Foxification of the White House but adds yet another abuser of women and men to Team Trump.

After the shooting at Maryland’s Capital Gazette newsroom, Sean Hannity got to work “defending” his own and Donald Trump’s incendiary attacks on the press by pretending they hadn’t happened. And, as if unable to help himself, Hannity attacked CNN’s Brian Stelter as an “idiot” for saying that journalists have been afraid of such a shooting.

Donald Trump has been busy campaigning lately, including rallies in states important to the balance of power in the Senate. Fox News has been right there for every minute of Trump demagoguery, with free air time valued at more than $13 million.

The public backlash against the hideous rhetoric of Fox News seems to be causing some discomfort and consternation in the executive suites. CEO Suzanne Scott now wants it to be a tad less hideous.

Sean Hannity baselessly blamed Democratic Congresswoman Maxine Waters for a shooting in the newsroom of the Capital Gazette in Annapolis, Maryland today. Yet Hannity and his beloved Donald Trump, not Waters, have a long history of inflammatory rhetoric attacking the press.

Sean Hannity must think his elderly viewers are too senile to remember that he vulgarly referred to the deceased Sen. Ted Kennedy as “Ted ‘Chappaquiddick’ Kennedy” just seconds before complaining about “the language of the left” for threatening a brass-knuckle fight against Trump’s Supreme Court nominee to replace retiring Justice Anthony Kennedy.

Fox Business host Maria Bartiromo has an uncanny ability to remain ignorant about the seamier side of Donald Trump’s behavior. The same woman who insisted there are no sexual misconduct allegations against Trump last fall today insisted she had never heard him promote violence.

Donald Trump, probably with the advice of “unofficial chief of staff” Sean Hannity, is reportedly about to hire former Fox News Co-President Bill Shine as White House communications director. Shine was ousted from Fox last year after multiple allegations that he helped cover up Roger Ailes’ sexual harassment. UPDATED
