I know it’s been a difficult month for so many of us. But I hope everyone can take time out to enjoy today’s holiday. Whether you’re with family, friends or just taking some quiet time, this is a good day to reflect on the good things we have and will have going forward.

Thank you, mlp. I’m afraid the year will be anything but great, though. I’d be thrilled with “not terrible.”
scooter, I had a nice holiday but did not overeat. Today, I had a turkey stir fry and it was yummy.
Kevin, that’s a lovely way to spend the holiday. I volunteered at the library on Saturday, which was my usual day to volunteer until the library changed to winter hours that now keep from being able to get there in time. It’s not as impactful as feeding the hungry but it made me feel good for the exact reasons you mentioned.

I spent yesterday volunteering at a meal event for the homeless and needy in Los Angeles. Did everything I could for the day in serving food and running back and forth to make sure people were doing okay. Best approach I could think of considering the dark times we are entering. I’ll do the same for the end of December as well.
I can’t think of a reason to try to celebrate what is happening here, but at the least we can try to do something decent for our fellow humans and spread a little light.
