Hannity Trots Out Gingrich Daughters To Fend Off “Open Marriage” Attack

Posted by Ellen -7842.60pc on January 20, 2012 · Flag

Sean Hannity was so eager to defend his pal Newt Gingrich on last night’s Hannity, you’d think Gingrich was in trouble for saying something racist rather than because his ex-wife dropped a bombshell on ABC News - that Gingrich had wanted an “open marriage” while he was married to her and having an affair with the woman who is his current wife.

Hannity began by openly admitting to doing Gingrich’s bidding. “(Gingrich) asked voters to turn to people who know him best to discuss his character. And now I am joined by two of those people.”

What Hannity didn’t mention? Those daughters are from Gingrich’s first marriage. The ABC News, "open marriage" wife is the second wife – the one he began dating while still married to Wife #1. So it’s not all that surprising that the daughters would be standing up for their father – even though neither of them would seem to have been there with Wife #2 when he supposedly said he wanted that open marriage.

The segment was more like a pep rally than an interview. Hannity began by noting Gingrich’s standing ovation during the debate earlier that night. “This was an extended standing ovation excoriating the media for their tawdry – you know, desire to go after this… and to do this on the eve of this debate.”

As if Hannity and everyone on Fox News would not be talking about it 24/7 had it been a Democratic candidate for president.

Jackie Gingrich Cushman said, “We all know that terrible things happen in terms of divorce. Divorce is very painful always, for everybody. He tried very hard in that marriage.” She went on to say that Gingrich is running on his professional record, not his personal record.

The problem with that stance is that Gingrich’s “professional record” includes attacking Bill Clinton over his conduct in the Monica Lewinsky affair and Democrats for their lack of family values – while he was conducting his own affair.

Not that you’d ever know that from watching the Hannity show. Hannity immediately brought up how Gingrich “wrote a book about God in America, he’s done a DVD on the Pope, he’s talked a lot about his (newly acquired) religious faith.” Hannity went on to play a clip of Gingrich talking about how he’s changed. “I’ve asked him also on radio. He says he’s 68, he’s more mature, he’s found his faith, he’s a very different person than he was 14 years ago. You guys are his daughters. Did you see the change in him?”

You can probably guess what they answered.

Our media partners need to ask these burning questions:

1. Were these daughters paid to do damage control?
2. Did they volunteer to appear on Hannocchio’s show, or were they forced to do it?

Fact: The Newt is a serial cheater. He’s done it twice, and the odds are great he will do it again.

Stepford Wife Calista travels with this old clown to make sure his eyes don’t wonder off again. She is always by his side, but he’ll slip again. Just give it time.

High End Hannocchio is very good friends with The Newt. He’s known him for years. Of course, he will support The Newt’s bid for president. The Mitt knows it and so does Pretty Ricky.

The Stop Hannity Express is on track to expose these conservative frauds. They hide behind their faith, but all of them have dark sides. And this year, we will expose their past.

NOTE TO HANNITY

Tell your audience you secretly support Newt Gingrich. We do.

Ol’ Scotty has ignored the obvious flaw in his logic:
If ’Hunka’s’ daughters had been defending their mother, they would never have been on Fox in the first place.
And I also have to congratulate all the posters here who did NOT take the cheap, cruel shot of pointing out how the daughters really share ’Hunka’s’ good looks!
(or lack thereof)

Scott Simon’s posts play a lot like the user “Scott” from the Dollar Dump. He’s probably arrogant enough to believe we wouldn’t see his FB page OR fact check the name to see that he doesn’t even look like the guy. Isn’t that how all of them operate?

Scott Simon is telling the truth. He delivered my paper for years.

Calista should stock up now on all the Tiffany jewelry she can carry. Given Pig’s track record, the Hunka-Hunka-Burning-Lovester will be moving on soon to another younger wife.

Not only is “Scott Simon” a liar and a (likely paid) troll, he is attempting to hi-jack the name of a journalist who works for NPR.

This hunka hunka of burning love is more like the Pillsbury Doughboy if you ask me.You must be a desperate woman to want to get next to that guy.The daughter on the right looks like the farmers wife in the Wood painting, its all very scary to me.

Three weeks after he’s out of office, bleh. Ellen, we need an “edit post” feature, lol.

I’m gonna be #3 that doesn’t believe for a second Scott Simon is someone who’s “worked in major news media for 30 years”.

Also, Bob Roberts pretty much owned the main point to be made here- Democrat adultery apparently needs condemned on every show until three weeks until he’s out of office, but Republican affairs need defended. When it can’t be defended anymore, this happens:

Pathetic.

This is so much fun, isn’t it? Don’t you just love the hypocrisy of what is obvious spin from these holier than thou types who are giving us the old he who is without sin, cast the first stone bit when their side is misbehaving.

Watching Sean and the entire Fox News lineup play their game isn’t getting me mad or frustrated in any way. I am savoring and enjoying this comedy that has been playing out with all the Republican candidates. Every week I think this can’t any more entertaining, but I’m proven wrong. This is better than watching the Marx Brothers in Duck Soup.

- “Open Marriage” Attack -

Attack? Asking NeuTard to hold himself to “Presidential” standards is not an attack. And NeuTard’s answer on the GOPig All Dancing Circus Show is what you’d expect of a drek who was fined & dumped by his own party for ethics violations. At 68 NeuTard is “more mature” only in the sense his bodily fluids have soured.

I love it. The guy who, last time I dared tune in a few months ago, still talked about Jeremiah Wright, complaining that the media is attacking a guy who wanted Clinton impeached over an affair. Between Hannity and Gingrich, we need a new word for hypocrisy. For them to actually believe they are making valid points is approaching a major mental illness.

And what’s even funnier, is douchebags like Gingrich can’t possibly hold a candle to the family values of Obama or Romney, but we are to believe Gingrich is righteous and others have ethical/moral baggage…….if you believe it, you have to want to believe it.

Newt has sought out God. Now step aside ’cause he wants your daughter next.

Scott Simon does not sound like a journalist. What has infiltrated Fox?

The worse part of this soap opera is visualizing Newt having sex. Makes you want to spoon out your eyes, don’t it?

Now, now… we can’t blame the ladies. Afterall you have to admit that hunka hunka of burning love just screams out for multiple partners.

Newt’s attempt at being “Happy Old Uncle Newt” fell apart the moment he was challenged by Romney. Then the “Angry Old Newt” came back out, which revealed the other pose to have been an acted one.

The strangest part of his campaign has been the frozen grin he’s used since May whenever he’s asked a hard question…

I don’t get it. First Newt wants to share his wife. Now he wants to offer his daughters? Is this his version of plural marriage? Is it a closet LDS thing? The one guy who can unravel this for me is John Huntsman.
Do the conservative Catholics at Le Faux preach that Newt will go to hell because he sinned by divorce?

@ Bob Roberts & Ellen:

Yeah, it sure is strange how marital infidelity — something the GOP considered to be of vital national importance 15 years ago — is, all of a sudden, an activity to be defended at all costs . . .

Slightly off topic but Jon Stewart was hilarious on Gingrich tonight.

Jeeez, right. Our Newt is strong enough for at least one more affair before he’s through!

Bob Roberts, plus how many insignificant Obama stories – about his putting mustard on his hamburger, inviting a rapper to the White House, the whole birther baloney, etc.

Cry me a river, Fox News and Bullyboy Sean Hannity!

I changed the title of this post because the original title said the daughters denied the “open marriage” claim, which they didn’t do directly.

Anthony Weiner was on 24/7 on Faux.
Same with Edwards.
Same with Clinton.
Yet it pains him to bring up Gingrich’s tawdry values, and then brings on the daughters whose mother was cheated on by wife #2 to support him.
Typical. Just typical.
