Sean Hannity interviewed President Barack Obama’s half brother tonight and, not surprisingly, spent much of the interview trying to use his guest to smear the president.
Before Mark Obama Ndesandjo appeared, Hannity played a mashup video of President Obama talking about “spreading the wealth,” “shared responsibility” and “my brother’s keeper.” Before introducing Ndesandjo, Hannity “asked,” whether “the multimillionaire president practice(s) what he preaches.”
Ndesandjo bears a striking resemblance to his half brother. He seems to have an interesting story to tell: He grew up in Kenya (though speaks English flawlessly) with domestic violence from his father, Barack Obama, Sr. For a long time, Ndesandjo said, he “wanted nothing to do with the Obama name.”
Unfortunately, Ndesandjo didn’t seem to know much about Hannity’s modus operandi. He said Hannity was “truly trying to understand, understand our family and I appreciate that. And I know you also want your millions of listeners to also understand more because we want America to move in the same direction in many ways.”
Well, only if Ndesandjo is a rock-ribbed Republican could that be the case.
As far as I could tell, the only "understanding" Hannity sought about the Obama family was in how to use them against the president. In no time, Hannity was trying to corral Ndesandjo into helping paint Obama as a hypocritical cheapskate. Hannity said, “I play all of this about ‘spread the wealth’ and ‘everybody’s paying their fair share’ and ‘Americans can afford to pay more and be our brother’s keeper,’ and there are five siblings from your father. …He’s the president of the United States, you have another brother… who lives in a hut, has no money. …Shouldn’t that brotherly love start at home? In other words, he’s a millionaire. He has a brother that doesn’t have any money in Kenya and I remember at the time, I said I’d give him a thousand dollars. Give him something. …Yet he doesn’t help that brother. Is that hypocritical?"
In the first place, Obama barely knows his African relatives. In the second place, Obama’s comments about spreading the wealth and raising taxes on the wealthy were about social policy, not supporting poor relatives who are virtual strangers.
Ndesandjo answered that there are “lots of things that go on in families which are not public.” Many people don’t know, he said, “Barack was one who helped a lot of the poorer relatives in Kenya come to Washington, D.C. for the inauguration.” That, Ndesandjo explained, conferred status which is a valuable commodity in Kenya. He also said, “My understanding is that Barack has helped in a number of ways but maybe not so obviously.”
Curses, foiled again! So Hannity moved on to say that President Obama “does not have the capacity to grow as a president and politician. I find him incapable of abandoning what I believe are radical, socialist views.” Hannity went on in that vein. He stopped just before the segment ended, leaving Ndesandjo just a few seconds to respond.
“My feeling is that it needs to be corrected, in terms of the criticism,” Ndesandjo said. And the segment ended.
Watch the discussion below and see the remarkable similarities between the two half brothers.
“Geeee, you don’t think that this has anything to do with the perils of Palin and her little family episode a couple of weeks ago, do you?”
Like I’ve said before doors17, if the Boston Red Sox and the Chicago White Sox can each win World Series titles in the same decade, ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE!
:^)
The timing of this interview dealing with the imperfections of the Obama family doesn’t exactly pass the smell test, but then it is Sean, sooo….you know.
If anyone is weak it’s old Hannocchio. This is the same cafeteria Catholic who is too chicken to waterboard himself for our troops. The “I Love the Troops” image is part of his brand. We know how he really feels about the military.
This pompous, arrogant, demanding, thin-skin Long Island Lolito only cares about his ratings, image and income. He’s been this way since his early days in radio. He has left a trail of enemies, including a few select conservative talkers with back wounds. Some took to the airwaves exposing him as a fraud.
If Lolito wants something bad enough he will use whatever means necessary to achieve it (favors from friends or $$$$).
We felt sorry for his parents raising a troubled son. They should have sought professional help for him. He may have turned out different today.
