Sean Hannity’s animosity to #BlackLivesMatter concerns couldn’t have been plainer last night as he ignored the death of African American Freddie Gray – who died of a spine injury while in police custody and the Baltimore protests that followed. Instead, Hannity aired video of some heroic police and berated the “liberal media” for hating cops.
Hannity got right to his resentment in a teaser at the beginning of the show:
HANNITY: Cop haters in the liberal media won’t like this. An exclusive interview with the hero officers who risked their lives to save a motorist.
Later, Hannity introduced the interview with the following:
HANNITY: So as most of the media has declared war on police officers now in recent months, we want to show you dramatic dash cam footage of two heroic cops in Texas from over the weekend.
He then showed two police officers pulling what appeared to be an African American man from a burning car, probably at great risk to themselves.
I’m all for highlighting the good that the police do, especially if it eases tensions. But Hannity’s main interest in the story was in using it against liberals – and, by suggestion, African Americans who feel targeted.
Hannity said to the officers:
HANNITY: When you put together what you guys are doing and everybody looking at this video now is saying ‘Wow.’ Those are two brave heroic police officers. And then you think about all the statements that have been made about the police – for example, post Ferguson, Missouri. What is your reaction to people’s attitudes towards police these days?
“We can’t really speak to that,” Officer Autumn Soto replied. She said they just go to work doing their job the best they can.
So Hannity pressed her to be a little more divisive: “But does it bother you that there are people that have pre-conceived notions that officers are out to get ‘em?” he prodded.
“Of course it does,” she said. “It hurts me.”
Hannity followed up that interview with a discussion with liberal-hating Bo Dietl and liberal Richard Fowler who, predictably, did not confront Hannity on his obvious agenda. So there were plenty of smears from the right that got ignored while the comments from the left obediently stayed on topic.
But even that wasn’t enough divisiveness for Hannity. He closed the segment by complaining that commencement speeches are “normally dominated by liberals.” He added, “We’re gonna examine why that’s the case, why that needs to change.”
Watch it below, from last night’s Hannity.
Hannocchio tried to bait the two officers with questions about police brutality protests in Ferguson and other states. This uneducated twat should know that officers are not authorized to speak on cases involving the police. That job is for the public information officer. These two officers were obvious advised not to discuss those incidents prior to appearing on Hannocchio’s dumb show.
The Stop Hannity Express says Hannocchio should have never been hired as a host. He’s lousy. He does not know how to conduct proper interviews. He’s rude and obnoxious. Well…he’s always been rude and obnoxious since he started in radio in Santa Barbara.
He puts himself on a throne and expects others to cater to his needs like servants. Ask his former colleagues of about his dark side.
Hannocchio always has private security round him when he’s out in public. Odd, this middle-aged clown boasts on tv how he can fight like a dog-are apologies to all dogs-but in reality the muscular security men in their nice pressed coats are the ones who protect him. Phony man.
