Glenn Beck visited The O’Reilly Factor tonight where – like so many other Fox News pundits – he was presented as some kind of expert on the Ebola virus. “Dr.” Beck’s diagnosis was a doozy.
You may recall that earlier this week, Bill O’Reilly annointed himself a bigger expert on Ebola than Dr. Tom Frieden, head of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. O'Reilly demanded Frieden be fired, because he has failed to do what O’Reilly "knows" should be done to protect us from Ebola: prevent people from West Africa from entering the U.S.
O'Reilly gives the impression that’s the only thing that needs to be done. He never seems to consider a possibility that even with a blockade, infected people might get in. I have yet to see him show any interest in what is going on at the Dallas hospital that sent home an Ebola patient and now has two of its health care workers infected.
Yet after another seething condemnation of Frieden in tonight’s Talking Points commentary, O’Reilly turned to Beck and asked, “What’s your assessment” of the Ebola situation. As if the fact that Beck lives in the general vicinity qualifies him as an expert. But what the heck? If O’Reilly and Brit Hume can play Ebola experts on TV, why not Beck?
Beck was up to the task. He declared that President Obama’s “policies make absolutely no sense” and “a quarantine is necessary.”
“It’s all built around political correctness. That’s what this is all about, alright?” O’Reilly said.
Beck agreed.
We know what they meant: Obama, the guy whom Beck publicly accused of hating white people and white culture likes black people too much.
But that wasn’t the only reason. Arrogance and a “derelict of leadership” are also factors, these two infectious disease specialists concluded.
By the way, did you catch how Beck called Megyn Kelly “one of us?” I guess he didn’t get the memo she’s a “straight news anchor,” not an opinion host.
But Beck didn’t dwell on that. He soon moved on to fear mongering like the bad old days on Fox, apparently forgetting he’s a uniter now.
"I feel like I’m on the set of The Sopranos. …We have the whole set wrapped because I’m gonna show you exactly… how easy it is to be tainted with the Ebola virus," Beck informed us. He sat in front of a set with furniture wrapped in cloth, under a sign that laughably read, “LOVE.” The set looked more like a Halloween haunted house than a quarantine area.
“Nobody is paying attention to this,” Beck said, in shades of his old hate mongering shtick. “With every single person that gets it, it mutates and it changes. Danger! Real danger! The president should be cautious, safety first. But we’re doing political correctness first.”
Beck never did explain “exactly how easy it is to be tainted with the Ebola virus.” But whatever he meant, it was about as believable as his frog-boiling stunt. Because Beck had just said he has two employees who live in “that complex” “where that nurse was.” If it’s so easy to catch Ebola, why had Beck also just said about his employees “Now, they haven’t had any exposure to this. …Nothing to worry about at this point?”
But Beck wasn’t done with his shtick. Check out how he suggested Obama was deliberately harming Dallas:
I think this is mass incompetence and arrogance. But let me just ask you this question. If this were happening in Washington, D.C. right now, do you think the president and his administration would be acting like this? Do you think that Congress would be acting like this?
This is happening in Dallas, Texas. This is a top ten city in the United States of America. Happens to be one that doesn’t particularly care for the president all that much and his policies, one that the president has not been too favorable on. We are already being squeezed on our southern border. Now we’re being squeezed by Ebola. Is there an agenda here? Is that possibly a reason? Because I can’t, I can’t figure out any other reason.
Fortunately, that was too wacky even for O’Reilly. “I just think he’s in over his head,” O’Reilly said dismissively.
By the way, Obama won Dallas county by more than 15% in both 2008 and 2012.

When it comes to play-acting doctors on Fox, you forgot the “head of department”: “Dr” Keith Ablowme . . .
.
Texas has a imbecile for a governor who has basically shut down Texas .Even the two esteemed Doctors Bile and Becktard can’t erase that fact.
