Tragically, two police officers have been shot in Ferguson, Missouri tonight. Fox News went live with, among others, Mark Fuhrman. Sure enough, he blamed the Obama administration – by suggesting they had catered too much to a thuggish community.
As I’ve written previously, it’s a slap in the face of African Americans for Fox to call on Fuhrman in any racially sensitive story. But Fox does this repeatedly. For those not familiar with Fuhrman's past:
During the 1995 murder trial of O.J. Simpson, the defense produced a tape of Fuhrman, who collected evidence in the case, using the word n*****more than 40 times over a 10 year period. The person who made the tape said Fuhrman used the slur “in a very casual ordinary pattern of speech. It was nothing extraordinary. It was just conversation.” During the O.J. Simpson trial, a number of other witnesses testified that Fuhrman was a racist. Fuhrman, who testified during the trial that he had not used a racial slur in the past 10 years, pled no contest to perjury charges and was sentenced to three years of probation.
On Fox tonight, host Jackie Ibanez spoke to Fuhrman over the phone. Fuhrman didn’t name President Obama or Attorney General Eric Holder as he pointed the finger at “federal influence” but it was clear whom he meant:
FUHRMAN: Once the Michael Brown shooting occurred, you had a bunch of politicians. You had federal agents, you had federal agencies, you had federal influence, you had political influence that tried to come up with a new game plan for the same old game.
And the same old game is people that are breaking the law and they’re vandalizing property, they’re injuring people, they’re injuring officers, you have to take control of that. And they have hesitated to do that.
And you know, the unfortunate part about this whole situation is there were people in the know that knew from the first day what this investigation was actually revealing and exactly what the forensics stated and exactly what the officer stated and the witnesses and they gave a vast majority of the public, if not this nation, a false hope, an unreasonable hope that Officer Wilson would be indicted for the shooting of Michael Brown and they knew on the onset that would not happen. And then the civil rights violation, the same is true. They knew that that bar being higher, if they couldn’t reach the first bar, they certainly couldn’t reach the second. And then, unfortunately, people expected something to happen and they’re angry.
But Fuhrman left out a few important points about the federal investigation. Holder started the federal investigation partly to calm the waters in Ferguson – and he succeeded. But more importantly, his federal investigation uncovered serious, systemic wrongdoing.
From The New York Times:
The report gave credence to many of the grievances aired last year by African-Americans in angry, sometimes violent protests after the deadly police shooting of Michael Brown, an unarmed black 18-year-old. Though the Justice Department separately concluded that the officer, Darren Wilson, who is white, violated no federal laws in that shooting, Attorney General Eric H. Holder Jr. said investigations revealed the root of the rage that brought people into the streets.
“Seen in this context — amid a highly toxic environment, defined by mistrust and resentment, stoked by years of bad feelings, and spurred by illegal and misguided practices — it is not difficult to imagine how a single tragic incident set off the city of Ferguson like a powder keg,” Mr. Holder said.
In other words, the community's resentment and rage go deeper than the shooting death of Michael Brown and they certainly go deeper than any disappointment over a possible indictment. The fact that Fuhrman either deliberately ignored or deceptively failed to mention those findings suggests he hasn’t changed much in all these years.
Watch him below.
White shooters= Troubled individual who acted alone, and does not represent anyone but themselves.
Black shooters= Hate-filled racist thugs, from a racist thug culture, and we need to rein them in by force.
On a side note, I wonder how many white people in Ferguson do whatever the hell they want, because they know conservatives will blame black people, and may even show the video of a different crime.
