Fox Interrupts Obama’s Immigration Speech For Extremist Sheriff Arpaio

Fox News has made a huge outcry about President Obama’s executive action on immigration but the “we report, you decide” network interrupted its coverage of Obama's latest remarks in favor of comments from anti-immigrant extremist Joe Arpaio.

At 4 PM ET yesterday - while President Obama was still speaking - Fox dropped Obama and went to Neil Cavuto. He introduced Arpaio with a snappy little soundbite that seemed like he was trying to make rhyme: “As he’s talking, I want you to meet the sheriff who is suing because - get ready - this deportation thing, it is officially exploding.”

Arpaio is not a legitimately dissenting view on either Obama or immigration. From Media Matters:

Arpaio is a prominent birther who was found by state law enforcement agencies to have failed to investigate hundreds of sex crimes and is subject to an independent monitor after a federal judge determined that his office racially profiled Latinos.

According to Media Matters, both CNN and MSNBC carried Obama’s remarks in their entirety.

Fox News priorities... opinions from an anti-immigrant extremist take precedence over our president's speech.
