Fox Guest Obenshain Hilariously Refuses To Acknowledge Any Republican Obstructionism Or Divisiveness

Republican guest Kate Obenshain was so ridiculously off-base last night that Bill O’Reilly slapped her down so that Democrat James Carville didn’t have to.

Bill O’Reilly is hardly an Obama supporter or an apologist for the Democrats. But he doesn’t suffer fools gladly and there is just no other way to describe Obenshain’s argument as foolish. That is, if shrewish, mean spirited and dishonest is just a little too blunt.

In a wider-ranging discussion about President Obama and the failure of Congress to deal with the border crisis, O’Reilly addressed Obenshain: "You’ve got to admit… that we have two parties who are both supposed to be working together for the good of the people. Alright? Not to destroy one another. That’s not our system. OK, but now, nothing can get done."

Obenshain showed none of the personal responsibility Republicans are always demanding from others. She blamed Obama. “You know what, Bill? Since Day One this president has been determined to vilify and demonize the other side. He wants to shut down debate –"

Now, that’s rich. Because even before Day One of Obama’s presidency, Obenshain was on Fox vilifying and demonizing him. For example,

on June 20, 2008, Obenshain said Obama “wants to grant Constitutional rights to terrrorists.”  In October, 2007, Obenshain deliberately impugned Obama’s patriotism for not wearing a flag pin on his lapel. “It matters to our troops who are in harm’s way. …People already have some serious questions about Barack Obama on foreign policy,” she said.

O’Reilly interrupted what he knew was a load of BS. He asked about Republicans, “Shouldn’t they rise above, the other side rise above it and put good stuff in?”

No, Obenshain just wanted to stay on the attack – and then blame the Democrats for it. “You know who’s talking about impeachment, James?” she asked. “It’s not the conservatives and it’s not the Republicans. It is the White House, it’s Michelle Obama …The White House is all over it. …It’s used to divide America… It’s used to divide Americans and score political points.”

Obenshain has a hell of a nerve complaining about anyone else being divisive. In addition to the examples of her divisiveness above, she is also the woman who said, “Hillary Clinton thinks that she is God’s gift to the country.”

She’s also got a hell of a nerve saying that conservatives and Republicans are not talking about impeachment. I recently drew up an informal list of impeachment talk just on Fox News that has been going on almost since Day One of Obama’s presidency.

Even O’Reilly ran out of patience with Obenshain. “Kate, there’s plenty of hate on both sides,” he said.

“No, there’s not, actually,” Obenshain insisted. “There are policy differences on the conservative side. That’s the difference.”

O’Reilly told her, “Kate, if you don’t know there’s plenty of hate on both sides, I can’t help you.”

“Bill, wake up,” she insisted.

“I’m awake,” he said.

Indeed he was – and he was 100% correct in this exchange.

d.d.— didn’t see "Fox and Friends,’ but I did see Scheuer on Hannity tonight, guest hosted by the exceedingly loathsome Monica Crowley. The thought that the deranged Scheuer ever had serious responsibility in the CIA is frightening indeed.

That was followed by an all-out Clinton hate fest with Crowley egging on two 9/11 family members, one of whom was an apparently cognitively handicapped (I"m trying to be nice here) former FDNY deputy chief, who again, makes me tremble for the competence of the agency with somebody as nutso as he is in any position, never mind one of command.

OK these are people who have been mentally and emotionally damaged by losing loved ones on 9/11, and personally, I give them a lot of slack. But the way Fox exploits these people’s grief and often irrational anger for partisan political gain is just stomach-turning.

I watched this segment last nite and if I remember, O’Loofah first questioned was between the infighting between Boehner and Cruz. Obenshain’s answer (if you wanna call it an answer) was to immediately point fingers at and blame Senate Democrats and Pres. Obama for Boehner pulling the bill on immigration from the floor. This piece of work comes from the Marsha Blackburn School of How to Not Answer Any Question Posed to You and Just Reply Over and Over Again With My Preplanned Spiel and Talking Points. She has done this for years and years, even remember her being on with Bill Maher doing the same. Yet she still gets booked.

Hey Kate: It’s PAINFULLY OBVIOUS to any thinking person like me that YOU REALLY DO NOT GIVE TWO FLYING F**KS about our brave young men and women currently in harms way! Mark my words: YOU ARE NOTHING BUT A 100% PERENNIAL GUNPOWDER-FILLED LOUDMOUTHED PAMPERED B**CH! I’ll bet the house NOT A SINGLE ONE OF YOUR MILITARY AGED LOVED ONES are currently in harm’s way right now!

’Nuff said.

Good Gawd, Kate, what freakin’ pseudo-world do you live in?! There are much more than just statements of “policy differences” coming from the GOP/right-wingers/conservatives. And even when they do actually talk “policy differences”, the statements are often littered with snide comments and disparaging personal insults directed at Obama and other Dems.

BOR is right on this one and it’s YOU who needs to “wake up”, Kate. You’ve just outed yourself as a foolish right-wing tool and as someone who doesn’t have a clue about reality.

Btw, did anyone see the bash Bill Clinton segment on F&F this morning with Michael Scheuer and Geraldo? Let’s just say it got rather, um, heated. LOL!

Speaker Orange Boner loves the trappings of his office…..private dining room, chauffeured limousines, Government jet travel. He just doesn’t like doing the work. Rather drink Merlot and play golf. He has no sway at all with the teabaggers who run today’s Repug Party.

I think Ms. Obenshain’s anger comes from jealousy of Junior O’Reilly , and all the others in the Right Wing Noise Machine. She sees them as beating her to all the benefits, (money , and attention) that come from The Right Wing’s US vs THEM Philosophy.

Some Republican viciousness is just too crazy not to take apart.
