Fox & Friends Attacks Obama For Making The Bison The National Mammal

Apparently, Fox & Friends couldn’t think of a legitimate reason to attack President Obama for making the bison the national mammal. So the Curvy Couch Crew suggested the bison was going to replace the bald eagle... which is a bird.

As The Washington Post noted, most media outlets “took it in stride” when the Obama administration made the announcement that the bison is now the national mammal. But not Fox News.

“Have we forgotten why the bald eagle is America’s original symbol of freedom?” cohost Steve Doocy “asked.”

Guest Al Cecere, president of the American Eagle Foundation, there with an eagle named "Challenger," told the viewers that there’s no threat since the bald eagle has been the national bird for 234 years.

But the fact that one's a bird and the other a mammal didn't seem to register with the Fox hosts. Or, as some say, were they looking for a new excuse to hate on Obama?

From The Washington Post:

“How do you feel? Challenger’s been buffaloed," Doocy started off.

And when the subject turns to the amount of recognition the eagle gets from the Obama administration (apparently not enough), Kilmeade interjected: "Isn't this the same administration that said it's okay to start killing them?"

Watch it below, from the May 9 Fox & Friends.

MJ, I don’t think ed Jones is a troll of any sort. That buffalo wings comment was good. I always look for great dialogue. Even if is written on a bathroom wall.

@ ed jones: “I guess no one has ever herd of buffalo wings”

“heard”

@ jerry mander (likely the same person): Drumpf first needs to correct the loss of that money that was supposed to be donated to veterans organizations.

BTW, cute sockpuppet troll name.

“ed” and “jerry”: both very ignorant — IOW, ideal examples of Drumpf supporters.

Of course not: that would require a cursory education in science beyond the fifth grade — something the Curvy Couch Crew apparently doesn’t possess.

Nor does at least one commenter at WaPo, it seems:

Obama just get worse all the time. Removing the Bald Eagle and naming the Buffalo. The Indians used to run the buffalo off a steep embankment to get their meat, hides, bones and tallow and of course the hides wore used as part of their teepee’s beds etc. I think he just keeps running up to that cliff and stops, sooner or later he may go over the edge. He may have today when he starts telling school kids to make way for Transgender Restrooms. IT IS TIME TO REVOLT and I think the people are ready.

My line is engineering, so I might be mistaken but Obama said the bison is our new national “MAMMAL”…and eagles aren’t mammals so they shouldn’t have anything to do with this.

I doubt I’m the only one who sees a correlation between republican hatred for science and the dept of education, and nonsensical republican outrage based on ignorance about whatever the issue is.

I can’t believe you are an Engineer and talk that way. You must be on the Government Teat.

“Amil Baker”‘s avatar in WaPo’s comments section is a pic of someone pointing a gun at what appears to be a gun range; very apt, as stupidity such as his should be classified as “weapons grade” and regulated appropriately . . .

Ahhh, symbol envy. Faux news is envious of all other symbols because their symbol is the flying pig.

Yeah, I think I linked his story in comment a while back.

It’s proof FOX News will attack Obama for anything. He could cure cancer and they’d interview workers laid off by a chemotherapeutic agents maker. Bitch he hates middle-class workers. ;^)

If we really wanted to get these FoxNoise anchors’ heads to explode, ask them why they and their network support groups that pose a threat to the very existence of our national symbol by trying to overturn environmental proposals and laws (like the Clean Air Act).

Our “treasured” national symbol was, less than 50 years ago, declared an “endangered animal” due in part to excessive hunting but more to DDT poisoning and a loss of suitable habitat. And it’s only been in the last 2 decades that the bird has been moved to a classification of “least concern” (by the International Union for Conservation of Nature). But that could change VERY easily if the “pro-business” policies supported by the GOP and its media propaganda arm at FoxNoise became official policy. Just keep spewing pollution into the air and into rivers and lakes, keep building residences and businesses in wilderness areas the eagles need, keep letting timber companies cut down old growth forests and keep letting mining companies dig up the ground; the bald eagle could wind up an extinct species in just a couple of decades.

Or, is it that these morons don’t really care about the actual animal?

Hmmmmmmmmm, the title of this thread reminds me of this ancient riddle:

Q: What do buffalo celebrate at 200 years?

A: Their Bi – son – tennial!

Daddy Douchebag, Brain Kilmeade and Airhead Ainsley can’t be bothered with distinctions between mammals, birds, reptiles, fish, etc. It hurts their heads to try.
