On Tuesday, Deirdre Bolton, host of what is supposed to be a business news show, spent an entire segment using a police shooting to attack President Obama.
Fox Business describes Bolton’s show by saying, “Deirdre Bolton takes you beyond stocks and bonds into the world of alternative investing. She brings viewers new ways to make money and better ways to keep it.” But there was nothing about stocks, bonds, investing or finances in this segment.
It began with a “News Alert,” followed by Bolton saying, “Another police officer is in critical condition in Mississippi after he was shot point blank in the face. This is the latest in a string of attacks of on police. The National Fraternal Order of Police responding, tweeting out ‘7 officers have been killed serving their communities in the last six days. Please pray for their families.’”
Bolton focused on attacking President Obama, not the news: “Critics of the president point out that he has been notably silent.” Bolton also noted that a sheriff where one of the officers was killed penned an open letter complaining about Obama’s silence and demanding he attend the funeral.
Instead of talking to both sides, Bolton hosted Fox News contributor David Webb to further attack Obama.
Bolton set the stage by saying the sheriff wrote “a strong letter to President Obama” before asking Webb for his take.
Webb took the hint and launched into his own onslaught against Obama.
WEBB: Look at the record of President Obama and how he has reacted to law enforcement. He sees them like he see the troops, as a prop to be used when it’s necessary - Henry Louis Gates at Harvard, "they acted stupidly," even when he says, "I don’t have all the facts." When it comes to Ferguson and Al Sharpton and how he deals with that Black Lives Matter crowd. Realize that President Obama only cares when it comes to serving his agenda.
And I’m someone who has worked with a lot of agencies, spoken with a lot of these cops around the country, they feel left out. Look, in this country we have three hundred million people plus. We have eight hundred thousand law enforcement officers in different agencies to protect us. They deserve a lot better and they are frankly getting the butt end of it from the president.
Bolton offered no counter to Webb. Instead, she followed up with an obvious prod for him to attack some more, “And you feel like this administration is worse than any other one that you’ve covered?” she “asked.”
WEBB: Yes, because of the lack of balanced response. Let him speak out when there are issues of blacks wrongfully being murdered by bad police officers . But also speak out about a law enforcement community that is tasked with protecting all of us and this is why it’s so important we keep the cultural structure together. Without that structure our society falls apart.
Bolton then made a deliberate ploy to get Webb to blame Obama for police killings. She quoted far-right racist Kevin Jackson, who had appeared earlier in the week and said: “The climate that we’re in with the DOJ and what’s happened in Ferguson and actually all around the country has sort of led to this epidemic of police killings.”
This time Webb did not bite. He responded by attacking Martin O’Malley and saying that he was responsible for the “broken trust” that led to the riots in Baltimore after Freddie Gray was killed.

Well, there’s never any news on Fox News; it stands to reason there won’t be any business on Fox Business . . .
