Ladies and gentlemen, Eric Bolling wears him some lipstick - and his favorite color is brown! Yesterday, in perhaps the greatest example of on-air butt kissing I have ever seen, Bolling decided that his boss, Roger Ailes, had revealed the answer to the crisis in Syria in 2012 in his authorized biography (the one Fox keeps touting in an effort to counteract the unauthorized one due out in 2014) that was released earlier this year.
“I think this is really important. I’m about to blow you mind, folks,” Bolling began. “I’ve been reading a biography about the chairman and CEO of Fox News, Roger Ailes. While reading page 103, the hair stood up on the back of my neck. Keep in mind this quote is from about a year ago. Mr. Ailes says, quote:
“Putin is angry. He thinks the United States doesn’t take him seriously or treat Russia as a major player. Okay, that’s fine, that’s how he feels. If I were president, I’d get in a room with him and say, ‘Look, look at the slaughter going on in Syria. You can stop it. Do it, and I’ll see to it that you can get all the credit. I’ll tell the world it was you who saved the innocent children of Syria from slaughter. You’ll be an international hero. You’ll go down in history.’ Hell, Putin would go to bed thinking, ‘That’s not a bad offer.’
There will still be plenty of other issues I’d have with Russia. But instead of looking for one huge deal that settles everything, you take a piece of the problem and solve it. Give an incentive for good behavior. Show the other guy his self-interest. Everybody has an ego. Everybody needs dignity. And what does it cost? You get what you want you give up nothing.”
Bolling asked Bob Beckel, “How many lives may have been saved if President Obama just went to Putin when Roger Ailes suggested?”
The rest of The Five was less than impressed. Three of the other co-hosts suggested this was not an answer and Greg Gutfeld quipped, “Obama is only excited around real star power, that is Beyoncé, Jay Z. Maybe if Putin could twerk.” For good measure, he added the tired right-wing line that Obama “doesn’t buy into exceptionalism” and added that Obama “is not a leader, he’s a helium balloon.” Classy.
And speaking of balloons, we may be about to burst Bolling’s. Although he implied that he had just stumbled upon the passage in Ailes’ biography and noticed the uncanny “prescience,” it’s more than likely, as Mediaite pointed out, that Bolling (or an assistant) stumbled on the very same quote from Ailes in a Buzzfeed article Friday called, “Here’s How The President Of Fox News Would Handle Syria If He Ran The U.S.”

Fox's Eric Bolling Reveals Roger Ailes Predicted Syria Solution a Year Ago
Eric Bolling is "about to blow your mind." That was The Five host's promise before reading an excerpt from the 2012 biography Roger Ailes: Off Camera in which the Fox News president predicted exactly how the current diplomacy effort in Syria would play out.
