I was just re-watching the video in my earlier post about Steve Doocy suddenly slobbering over the Chevy Volt. What I suddenly caught this time was that Doocy tried to blame the Obama administration for unwarranted attacks on the Volt - smears he and his own network put forth.
At the beginning of the segment, Doocy said:
The Chevy Volt has had a rocky start. But despite some sagging sales and some other issues, our next guest says, 'It's a great car that's gotten a bad rap. All because of President Obama's record, perhaps." As Doocy went on, his first question to his guest was a thinly veiled prompt to attack Obama. "What do you mean that the car's gotten a bad rap, almost guilt by association?"
The guest, Lee Spieckerman took the high road and while he did a good job of pimping his Fox News conservative cred, he never attacked Obama.
But I'd like to know how Doocy thinks it's Obama's fault that Fox News has repeatedly attacked the Volt, including a current post on Fox Nation. sneering, "The Official Car Of The Obama Admin Continues To Dazzle: GM Tells Volt Owners They Need New Charging Cord…"
Or why it's Obama's fault that host Neil Cavuto said about the Volt: "I know a stupid vehicle when I see one."
Or Fox contributor Jonathan Hoenig saying, "The rich don't become rich on the backs of the poor… They make Apple, not the Chevy Volt."
Or host Greg Gutfeld saying, "The entire reason for doing these stupid little cars is a lie."
Or Doocy saying Obama's comments about fuel efficiency and cars "could be re-VOLT-ing."
PS I'm hoping this will be my last post about the Volt today.
