Oh, that crazy Bill O'Reilly just loves to ambush people he disagrees with. All in the name of No Spin, of course. Tonight's victims? Al Gore and the people who went to see him speak in New York recently.
O'Reilly introduced the segment by saying that Gore is “under fire” for selling Current TV to Al Jazeera. Now that Gore is “running around New York City hyping his book,” smarmy Jesse Watters was sent to “find him and talk to some of his supporters.”
It was really a pretty uneventful ambush. The supporters were respectful and polite. Even Gore was respectful and polite. And politically savvy enough to know how to dodge Watters without doing or saying anything that would go viral. As Watters later told O'Reilly, Gore would not give a “specific reason or date” as to whether he would or would not come on the show.
Best clip was the guy who answered Watters' inquiry by saying, “Fox News? No.”
“What do you think I'm doing out here?” Watters asked.
“I think you're trying to get soundbites to make people sound like the caricatures that you're trying to portray people as,” he answered.
Watters later referred to the young man as a “knucklehead.”
If only the “knucklehead” had mentioned the hypocrisy of Fox News being in bed with the Saudi media conglomerate Rotana.
Now that would have made for an interesting ambush.
Which is what makes it sadder that so many people are able to see through his tactics and leave him with increasingly desperate attempts to knock them out of context.
In addition to BOR saying that Gore is a hypocrite for selling to a company that gets money from the oil (an industry that Gore has criticized), BOR says that it’s wrong for Gore to have done business with Al Jazeera network because of things they have done and aired. Well, if that’s to be part of the criteria, in addition to FOX’s Rotana/Saudi connections, FOX “news” also did business with a guy who said (among many despicable things) that he hated some of the 9/11 families and that he wanted them to shut up. BOR embraced this guy by having him on “The Factor” as a weekly guest and even cut a business deal to go on tour with him which fattened BOR’s bank account.
So here we have it – everyone is supposed to see Gore as a hypocrite because he made himself richer via the oil industry that he has often criticized. Never mind the fact that, in order to further enrich himself, BOR has no problem doing the same sort of thing by pimping himself/his books on the “liberal” media outlets that he constantly criticizes. Add this together with the FOX “news” ties to Rotana/the Saudis and the likes of Bek, BOR is a hypocrite too. So until BOR stops taking a check from Saudi/Rotana connected FOX “news”, stops going into business with hatemongering conspiracy nuts and stops selling himself via the “liberal” media industry, his attacks on Gore for being a hypocrite ring hollow.
Bill must have top-notch security around him to protect his egotistical, arrogant ass. Why can’t the coward go face to face himself with his intended victims and have to instead send someone else to do his dirty work? Think Bill would be slightly upset and act like a wounded puppy dog if he or Watters received the same treatment? A few years ago Bill Moyers was ambushed by someone on Bill’s staff and Moyers turned the tables on him by saying tell your boss O’Reilly that he is very welcomed to come on my program for the entire hour, live and debate any issue he chooses. Bill never accepted. Bullies don’t like getting hit back. Bill never aired that altercation which you know damn well that all of these are heavily edited and makes you wonder how many we didn’t see or what’s left on the cutting room floor on those that they do.
I’ll bet it was — ‘cause, as a former VPOTUS, doesn’t Mr. Gore get lifetime Secret Service protection? Watters may act big and bad behind his microphone, but I don’t think he’s bulletproof . . .
.
Intern Jesse: What do you think of Al Gore selling Current TV to Al Jazeera?"
The Public: “What do you think of News Corporation’s News International hacking scandal in the U.K.? Should Murdoch and his son be prosecuted?”
We guarantee you Intern Jesse would never air that exchange.
It’s easy striking back at these Fox “News” frauds. Throw it back at them by mentioning their numerous scandals.
NOTE TO INTERN JESSE
Genius, what would happen if Rupert Murdoch sold one of his assets to Al Jazeera, would you be running around with your wireless microphone asking people what they thought of Murdoch’s deal? Of course not.
NOTE TO MASSES
Get those camcorders out and ask the masses what they think of the Saudi Prince owning a large percentage of News Corporation. Mention Saudi Arabia’s link to terrorists organizations worldwide.
