'Fox News North' Goes Out Of Business In Canada

Canadian_flag.png

An attempt to clone Fox News in Canada has failed miserably.

Sun News Network, Canada's answer to Fox News, went off the air yesterday morning. In a six month span between the end of August 2011 and the end of March 2012, the network got only 0.1% of viewers. Toronto Mayor Rob Ford got a show after getting caught smoking crack, and host Ezra Levant called former Prime Minister Pierre Trudeau a "slut." The network also lost money.

As Media Matters reported, "When Sun News launched in 2011, its executives attacked what they described as the 'smug, condescending, irrelevant' journalism of existing Canadian outlets like the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC)."

But it was Sun News that turned out to be irrelevant

If only American viewers were as discerning as Canadians.
