On The Five two days ago, Greg Gutfeld smeared George Soros and activists at MoveOn.org calling for a Wal-Mart strike on Friday. It was the kind of language that would have had the Fox Newsies up in arms if a liberal had said such a thing about a conservative.

As we're getting ready for Turkey or Tofurkey or whatever, I thought you might enjoy re-watching this chestnut from last year via Funny or Die: Megyn Kelly's Pepper Spray Thanksgiving. 

Greta Van Susteren announced last night that Jill Kelley's sister has retained the services of attorney Gloria Allred. Jill Kelley, you may recall is the woman who received the allegedly harassing emails from General David Petraeus' mistress, thus triggering the investigation that led to his resignation. Although Van Susteren had no problem focusing on such trifles as Anthony Weiner's sexting, now she fretted that these latest developments would "take away" from Benghazi. What Van Susteren really means is that it may distract from helping Republicans use that tragedy to attack the Obama administration.

Fox & Friends is considered a Fox "opinion" show that is absolved from being "fair & balanced."  So you can understand why Fox "friend," Peter Johnson Jr., would interview an anti-union activist to blame unions for the demise of the Hostess Brands. But given that "America Live" show is supposed to be "real news, fair & balanced," you'd expect that a discussion of the Hostess situation would be done in a fair & balanced way which might include a spokesperson for the union rather than a right wing Fox hack. Actually, I'm being facetious because, given the partisan bias of Megyn Kelly, what you would expect is pure partisan hackery which is what was advanced on Monday's show during which the ever objective (hahahahaha) Lou Dobbs, during a discussion of the Twinkies company passing, blamed the baker's union. And in what was an unexpected treat, Ms. Kelly compared herself to the black & white cookie. True story.

The good news is that Sean Hannity stopped harping on “Benghazi-gate.” The bad news is that the latest outbreak of hostilities in the Middle East has got him lambasting Obama for appeasing and denying terrorism and not giving Israel his full-hearted support. On Monday night, when it looked like Israel was launching a ground offensive in Gaza, he brought super-hawk Oliver North onto the show to help him with the lambasting. North is busy promoting his Brand New Book, “Heroes Proved,” a novel in which a President claims the US is safe from terror and oh boy is he proved wrong. “Scary about how real life it is,” mused Hannity.

Megyn Kelly has discussed at least three times the “question” about whether or not Republican attacks on U.N. Ambassador Susan Rice are, as Kelly said with overt incredulity, “racially charged.” Although Kelly made a rather unconvincing stab at balance in the debate she moderated on the subject yesterday - with two white guys - the bigger question here is not Rice and race but why this would be considered such an important topic? Given how Kelly presented the question, it’s pretty clear that her real goal was to suggest that those questioning the racial motivations of attacks on Rice were playing the race card and looking for preferences. Coincidentally, that is a "question" Kelly has repeatedly raised about African Americans.

Poor Bill O’Reilly just can’t understand why people have been calling him a racist. I mean, just because he thinks people of color are moochers who elected President Obama because he’s willing to give them “stuff,” well, that’s just telling the truth, O’Reilly insists. Tonight, in yet another iteration of his “Obama supporters are not the traditional (white) Americans but just want stuff” Talking Points, he let it be known that these people of color non-traditional Americans are an actual threat to the country's well being.

Despite the court decision which ruled that the city of Santa Monica is within it's rights to  no longer host a holiday display that includes a Nativity scene, the baby Jesus must be very happy with Fox News. Yesterday, what Peter Johnson Jr. described as the "first salvo in the War on Christmas" was discussed on Fox & Friends and the alleged Fox "news" show, Happening Now during which Jon Scott whined about evil atheists trying to "squelch holiday fun." Not to be outdone, decorated general in the War on Christmas, Bill O'Reilly got on board with some atheist bashing during the "Rolling with Carolla" segment on the Factor. God bless ye merry gentlemen?

There's an interesting article in yesterday's New York Times about Republican backlash against NJ Governor Chris Christie for putting concerns for his state over his party. But what most striking were the lede paragraphs in which Christie calls "king maker" Rupert Murdoch as a crucial part of his political recovery work.

In addition to providing a national platform for his "contemptuous" and "contemptible" world view, O'Reilly has no problem providing his guests with a platform for their truly disgusting views. Such seems to be the case with "comedian" Adam Carolla who now has a weekly Factor segment during which he spews some really hateful stuff such as when he compared the HHS birth control policy to getting free beer. But last night, during his vile smear of Native Americans and Victoria's Secret models, he really went over the edge while Bill (and his production crew) laughed uproariously and showed lots of Victoria's Secret footage which, for Bill and his male audience, is about as good as it gets, if you catch my drift.
