Posted by Ellen · December 02, 2012 4:55 PM · 1 reaction

As predicted, the lengthy investigation into the phone hacking and other scandals surrounding News Corporation's British tabloids released its report this week. Let's just say that Rupert Murdoch and his son James do not come out of it looking good.

Kimberley Guilfoyle Says Christianity Is Under Attack!

Posted by Priscilla · December 02, 2012 3:04 PM · 9 reactions

Fox News lives in an apocalyptic dystopia which is always waging war on somebody or something deemed anathema to the right wing. While the Fox created "war on Christmas" is the only officially declared war, Fox also wages war on minorities, Muslims, undocumented immigrants, gays, and atheists because, according to Fox, they pose a real threat to the America of Fox News. Thus, we have the constant parade of victimized Christians who are, according to Fox, besieged by evil atheists who are trying to destroy Christianity. This paranoid, fortress mentality creates an "us vs. them" duality which serves the Fox propaganda purpose of further dividing the nation. During Wednesday's "The Five," Kimberly Guilfoyle proclaimed that "Christianity is under attack" by evil atheists and the RI Governor. Christians are persecuted? Really?  It's seems like it's the nice Fox Christians who are doing the persecuting. But's all fair in Fox's fake wars!

OMG, Fox News Video Uses 'Holiday' Instead Of 'Christmas' In Its Title!

Posted by Priscilla · December 02, 2012 12:09 PM

The outrage continues. First, Fox's Dr. Manny Alvarez posted an article about heart health during the "holiday season" when we know that the only season this time of year is Christmas. But it gets worse. I am chagrined and appalled that Fox News, the official Christmas-not-holiday-you-scum-sucking-heathens network, has a video titled "Holiday Breakfast Ideas." Have they no shame?

Fox Pretends Obama's Approval Rating Is Falling When It's Actually Rising

Posted by · December 01, 2012 10:51 PM · 6 reactions

Fox Nation has a post up declaring Poll: Obama Job Approval Drops to 49%. But you have to wonder if Dick Morris is writing the Fox Nation headlines now. Because Obama's approval ratings have been climbing not dropping.

Krauthammer's Stunning Hypocrisy On Defective Intelligence - Benghazi v. Iraq

Posted by Ellen · December 01, 2012 6:00 PM · 7 reactions

Eric Boehlert at Media Matters has found what you might call the "smoking gun" of Fox News hypocrisy in its Susan Rice hysteria: In 2005, Charles Krauthammer wrote a column in support of Condoleezza Rice's appointment as Secretary of State despite her role in promoting the invasion of Iraq: "(Democratic Senator) Mark Dayton of Minnesota accused her of lying in order to persuade the American people to go to war -- a charge that is not just false but that most Americans don't believe. Rice was not a generator of intelligence. She was a consumer -- of a highly defective product."

Paging Bill O'Reilly, Dr. Manny Alvarez Says 'Holidays' Instead of 'Christmas'

Posted by Priscilla · December 01, 2012 3:27 PM · 2 reactions

OMG, it is shocking I say. Truly shocking that a member of Fox News' "medical A team," Dr. Manny Alvarez titled his article "Protecting Your Heart During the Holidays." Hasn't he gotten the Fox News message that the word is "Christmas" because, according to Bill O'Reilly that's the only thing that is celebrated this time of year. What's even more shocking is that he repeated this obscenity nine times. Oh, the humanity.

Van Susteren: Susan Rice Is The Victim Of Sexism Because The Media Hasn’t Been Tough Enough On Her

Posted by Ellen · December 01, 2012 9:58 AM · 9 reactions

Greta Van Susteren managed to sound more moronic than Sarah Palin last night – and in a discussion about Benghazi, no less. The discussion began with Van Susteren asking, “Are the attacks on Ambassador Susan Rice sexism or something else?” The choice of Palin as a guest guaranteed the answer she’d get. And don’t tell me she didn’t know that. But Van Susteren put her own "feminist" spin on the situation by arguing that yes, Rice has been the victim of sexism – because she’s gotten a pass in the media.

Gasparino Smears Buffett As An Obama 'Mouthpiece'

Posted by · November 30, 2012 9:02 PM · 4 reactions

On yesterday’s Your World, Charles Gasparino called Warren Buffett "a very great speculator, (but) that doesn't mean he knows a damn thing about economic policy, and I can't believe people just keep turning to him as this sage about the economy... Especially lately he's become a mouthpiece of this administration. He's their corporate mouthpiece, or one of ‘em, particularly the most vocal one, he writes op eds, he goes on the stump with this guy, shows up with the President… at the State of the Union."

Fox News Vs. Fox Latino On Lawsuit Against Gov. Brewer’s Denial Of Driver’s Licenses

Posted by · November 30, 2012 6:10 PM · 1 reaction

Yesterday, a pair of articles, one on Fox News, the other on Fox Latino, each detailed a lawsuit against Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer’s denial of driver’s licenses to undocumented immigrants in the state on work visas granted through Obama’s recent federal policy.  The policy seeks to assist immigrants brought here as children, who have stayed here, gotten an education, and avoided a life of crime. Not surprisingly, the immigrants were painted in a more favorable light on Fox Latino while Gov. Brewer got better PR on FoxNews.com.
