Fox News Outrageous Quote Of The Week Poll – 6/2/13-6/8/13
We had fewer candidates this week than we have the past few weeks. But quantity does not equal quality when it comes to outrageous quotes! I think you'll find some good ones to choose from in this week's crop. Enjoy!
Read moreBrian Kilmeade ‘Just Asks’ If Attorney General Eric Holder Is Bipolar
On June 6, in a Fox & Friends discussion about Attorney General Eric Holder and the Obama administration’s support of him, Brian Kilmeade suggested Holder may be bipolar for seemingly contradicting himself on freedom of the press.

While Bill O'Reilly's make-up covered blotchy skin might seem thick, it appears that somebody is getting under it. That O'Reilly can give it, but can't take it was underscored, again, in one of this week's "Tip of the Day," a bombastic bit of bloviation during which Bill preaches what he doesn't practice. That his "tips" are also a fascinating look into Bill's state of mental health, as well as a possible reflection of frustration with personal circumstances, was demonstrated in March when he advised his audience to ignore those nasty "guttersnipes." (Just like he did with Al Franken!?!) And this Thursday, his nightly nugget was about ignoring your "enemies." Unfortunately he didn't name names. As the old "Buffalo Springfield" song so eloquently put it, "paranoia strikes deep, into your heart it will creep..."
Read moreMegyn Kelly Drools Over Newest Christian Boy Hero Who Defied School Prayer Ban
Thanks to Fox News, America's Christians have a shiny, new hero who, metaphorically speaking, spit in the face of all those evil secularists who want to keep Jesus out of public schools. In an act of disobedience, a squeaky clean South Carolina Christian teen defied the school ban on graduation prayer and, instead of his pre-approved valedictory speech, said the Lord's Prayer instead. (Protestant version so screw you Catholics). Fox's Todd Starnes broke this positively divine story where it took pride of place on Fox News Insider. From there it went to Fox & Friends where Gretchen Carlson was positively orgasmic (in a chaste, Christian, and heterosexual way) over this paragon of "brave" Christianity. Later that day, Megyn Kelly seemed equally aroused (in a chaste, Christian, and heterosexual way) over Roy Costner IV's holy spirit filled defiance of that bogus separation of church and state. For Gretch and Megyn, a definite "Second Coming!"

Once again, we've gotten several emails from people who mistake us for Fox News. Here, for your enjoyment and Fox News' edification, is our latest batch. As usual, names and identifying information have been withheld to protect the ignorant. Grammar and spelling have been left intact.

Fox Nation veered from its usual Obama-bashing to post a story that has nothing to do with the president or politics. So what do you think the purpose of a story about a deadbeat dad with 22 children by 14 women might be? Did I mention that he's African American? Fox Nation didn't have to mention it because they posted a large photo of the man at the top of the page. But the readers got the message and responded with the most nauseating racism that is shocking to see on a major news site, especially one that claims to be a community of "civility" and "tolerance." (H/T J.L.)
Read moreFox Nation Hypes 'Must-Read Tweet By Chuck Woolery!"
Memo to Fox Nation: There is no such thing as a "must-read Tweet by Chuck Woolery." In case you don't know who he is, Woolery is a game-show host (or is he a former game show host?), fisherman and salesman. He's far from an A-List celebrity. So why would Fox hawk a "must-read Tweet" from Woolery? It must be something anti-Obama, right?

Can you imagine the howls of righteous Fox Christian indignation if a Muslim high school valedictorian defied school policy and and said a Muslim prayer. The usual suspects on Fox Christian News would be appalled and calling for the kid to be waterboarded at Gitmo. Or, say, if a gay student broke into Lady Gaga's "Born This Way." There would definitely be talk about how the evil "gay agenda" is being foisted on innocent, young, heterosexual, Christian youth. But when a South Carolina public high school valedictorian tossed his pre-approved school speech and burst forth with a hearty "Our Father" (Protestant version) to thunderous applause, Fox News went positively orgasmic (chaste and Christian, of course) with praise for this young Christian soldier who defied school policy. Starting with ace Christian (and very heterosexual) culture clubber Todd Starnes and making its way to Fox News Insider, the "extraordinary" story was told with hosannas in the highest. And this morning, Christian warrior princess Gretchen Carlson validated and praised this "brave" civil disobedience. Praise Jesus and Roger Ailes!
Read moreHannity And Gingrich Manufacture Outrage Over NSA Surveillance
It would be nice if we could have a real national dialogue about balancing privacy and national security concerns. But with mouthpieces like Sean Hannity broadcasting his invective into the public arena, I’m not optimistic. Besides the inflammatory rhetoric that pays him so handsomely, there’s his utter lack of concern for anything beyond promoting Republican politics. So anyone watching Hannity and his buddy Newt Gingrich whip themselves up into self-righteous lathers last night over the recent revelations about the Obama administration’s data mining of phone and internet records ought to take a look at how they were for such measures under the Bush admnistration – and quick to demonize those who were not – before they were against them in the age of Obama.
