On Fox & Friends: Mike Huckabee Doubles Down On 'Libido' Comment With 'Free Abortion' Lie
As sure as the tide goes in, the tide goes out, when a major Republican figure says something stupid, there's a good chance that Fox News will provide them with some sweet rehab. When Fox Host and possible presidential candidate Mike Huckabee made his now infamous libido comment, it didn't take much more than 24 hours for Fox to roll out the rehab carpet. Huckabee mansplained himself on Megyn Kelly's show. Bill O'Reilly mansplained Huckabee's comment on The Factor. And yesterday, Huckabee got warm validation on Fox & Friends where the liberal media was accused of spinning (!) Huckabee's comments and where Huckabee added to his mansplanation a big, fat lie about "free abortions" for all those out of control, gullible, libidinous nymphos who are getting seduced by Uncle Sugar and his free slut pills. Good times...

Attention Fox News: We still get emails from people who can't tell us apart. I haven't had a chance to open our mailbag of misdirected mail lately but here is a part of what has accumulated. I'll publish the rest in a later post. I look at it as a public service for the senders (because we know that Fox News personnel read our blog) and for our readers to get a glimpse into the minds of Fox News readers.

The O’Reilly Factor purported to debate last night the firestorm that erupted over Mike Huckabee’s comments about women’s libidos and needing “Uncle Sugar” to provide birth control. Women, sex and contraception? Instead of talking Huckabee, Bill O’Reilly used the occasion to obsess (again) about Sandra Fluke – and smear her by misrepresenting what she stands for.

The right wing love Israel because of its biblical connections. But they are certainly not attuned to Jewish sensitivities as seen in their callous comparison of right wing issues to Nazi Germany and the Holocaust. Fox News hosts provide examples of this insensitivity. When, at a Values Voters Summit, Mike Huckabee compared abortion to the Holocaust, the ADL described his remarks as "offensive" and "disturbing." The ADL condemned his comparison of the Holocaust to the national debt, at a NRA gathering, as a "political talking point." The ADL also called out Fox's Andrew Napolitano's column in which he suggested that if the Jews in the Warsaw ghetto had enough guns, some could have survived. This type of right wing commentary was recently advanced, by the alleged fair & balanced "news" host Martha MacCallum, on her alleged "news" show when she said that if only the Jews had guns, things would have worked out so much better.

It's hard to think of any more deserving winner of our Fox News Outrageous Quote of the Week poll than Allen West. He's parked at Fox News while he earns money and exposure for his upcoming 2016 campaign "for whatever God would have me do." Meanwhile, he seems to have no qualms spreading an outrageous message of hate and bigotry.

Mike Huckabee visited The Kelly File tonight to defend his now-infamous comments about women’s libidos and birth control. He insisted he has nothing to apologize for because the only ones he was knocking were Democrats, not women who want birth control. Au contraire, Huckabee repeatedly maintained, his comments about women believing they need “Uncle Sugar” to provide birth control because “they cannot control their libido” were made out of respect and admiration.
Read moreFox News Hypocrisy: Dana Perino Vs Gov. Andrew Cuomo
As Jon Stewart once said, "conservative victimization is the true genius of what Fox News has accomplished." So it makes sense that those on Fox News, who perpetuate the constant right wing victimization, would have their nice white panties in a bunch over NY Governor Andrew Cuomo's comment about how Republican extremists aren't in synch with the NY electorate. Among the Fox extremists who feel that the Governor is targeting them personally is Sean Hannity. When he whined about eventually leaving NY, Dana Perino said that unnamed "they" won't care if he does so because "they hate you." Wait a minute, I seem to remember that this same Dana Perino blithely suggested that a group of folks, whom she's not particularly fond of, leave not just NY - but the country!

Megyn Kelly, “truth detector,” seemed a lot more interested in attacking Texas’ Democratic gubernatorial candidate Wendy Davis than in sniffing out facts last night. Even as Kelly acknowledged that an anti-Davis video produced by the very suspect James O’Keefe organization was “unvetted,” she promoted it. Then, in an interview about the video with Davis’ opponent, Greg Abbott, Kelly repeatedly prodded him to go after Davis more aggressively than he obviously wanted.

After getting a shellacking from Kirsten Powers two nights ago, O’Reilly cued up Megyn Kelly to validate him discuss the issue of a school teacher caught reading pornography on the job again last night. Well, well, well.

You know how I didn’t believe Glenn Beck’s sudden claim to regret being so divisive? Well, it turns out he has a financial incentive to change his stripes. And somehow, in three different segments aired by the Kelly File this week, self-appointed “truth detector” Megyn Kelly didn’t say a word about that.
