Greta Van Susteren Mainstreams Mike Lee’s Extremism
Although Greta Van Susteren is named by Rupert Murdoch as one of Fox’s “liberal” voices, she nonetheless kept whatever liberal views she has to herself as she listened quietly and without challenge to Senator Mike Lee as he called the federal government “too dangerous to be trusted.”

In its never-ending war on the poor and middle class, Cashin’ In debated whether or not health care should be a right last Saturday (5/11/13). Host Eric Bolling gave a clue to where the segment would go when he opened the show by saying “Cashin’ In derailing the liberal gravy train right now.” But regular panelist Jonathan Hoenig took it to a whole new level when he argued that health care would “enslave” others and result in the “destruction of all rights.” He, Bolling and guest Wayne Rogers repeatedly likened health care to a big car or a free meal or something downright un-American. Fortunately, the two women on the panel had a kinder view.
Read moreFox News Hires Allen West – And Points To His Disgraced Military Career As One Reason
It’s not a huge surprise that Fox News hired Allen West as a contributor. Any regular Fox watcher could see that West has been angling for the job since he lost his seat in Congress (and finally acknowledged it with what has to be one of the least gracious concessions ever). But what is surprising, even for an outfit as maliciously divisive as Fox News, is that they would cite West’s disgraced military career as one of his selling points.
Read moreFox & Friends Fabricated Fox Fact?
In their zeal to preach the right wing's gospel about how evil "political correctness" is an affront to good and decent Americans, it would appear that Fox & Friends just might have created a Fox fact out of thin air or something far more earthly. During their little fun fest about how the "PC Police" are behind the Department of Education's new gender neutral designation for "parent 1" and "parent 2," a chyron appeared with this wording: "Baltimore Schools Ban Words Mother, Father." And while we assume (ahem) that Fox & Friends are meticulous in their fact checking, it appears that this Fox fact doesn't seem to be borne out by reality. What, what?

The gang on the curvy couch hates "political correctness" because it is not only an acknowledgement of the sensitivities of groups heretofore maligned, but it represents a society that acknowledges changing gender norms. For the religious right and their conservative choir on Fox & Friends, the idea that the American family is no longer the "traditional" 1950's model but something entirely new - one that encompasses OMG gay couples having and raising children - is truly threatening. And now that the Dept. of Education is changing its federal student aid form to recognize the changing family realities, Fox & Friends is right there to advance the view of "family values" groups, like Focus on the Family, who say that US Department of Education is "bowing" to the OMG "gay agenda." and that the change is "very offensive." Of course the kids on the couch didn't say it in so many words; but the message was still loud and clear!
Read moreCavuto Legitimizes Bachmann’s Suggestion That Obama Deliberately Let Americans In Benghazi Die
On yesterday’s Your World, Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-MN) did her part to exploit the White House controversies by a) likening them to Watergate, b) suggesting that the Obama administration stole the election via the IRS, c) calling for the repeal of Obamacare and d) suggesting that President Obama deliberately let four Americans die in Benghazi because he thought it would help him get re-elected. Host Neil Cavuto was on hand to help make her look credible. He introduced her appearance by saying she’s “demanding a lot more answers from the White House and, Congresswoman, you’re saying you’re not getting any, right?”

Last night, Major Garrett, formerly of Fox News but now with CBS News, reported that Republican-leaked emails that supposedly showed President Obama had meddled with talking points about the attack on Benghazi last September 11 - well, didn't. And how did Fox News react to this? By more or less ignoring it - and demanding further investigation.

Last night, The Daily Show lambasted the appearances of Dick Cheney and Donald Rumsfeld on Fox News where they and Fox had the audacity to pretend they had enough national security cred to lecture President Obama about Benghazi. Well, I hope someone on TDS staff was watching On The Record tonight because Greta Van Susteren had not one but two segments with Rummy to opine on the White House controversies. And not once but twice she teased the segments by asking, “What would Rumsfeld do?”

There was a time when one couldn't get through a Bill O'Reilly show without seeing photos of comely, well endowed women who, for whatever reason, caught Bill's fancy. But for the past couple of years, Bill seems to have abandoned the prurient (with the exception of Jesse Watters excellent nudist colony adventure) for more intellectual pursuits. But Tuesday night, Bill kicked it old school when he interviewed Kylie Bisutti, a former Victoria's Secret Model who quit her job because of religious reasons. The dichotomy between what she was saying and what appeared as visuals for the piece couldn't have been more striking.
