Fr. Jonathan Morris Attacks West Point Cadets, Protesting Official School Prayer, As Pawns Of Radical Athiest Activism
When it comes to religion, Fox News is hardly "fair & balanced." In keeping with Roger Ailes view, and that of the religious right, that secularism is destroying America, his network supports conservative Christians who claim to be persecuted, vilifies atheists, promotes the National Prayer Day and Congressional Prayer Caucus, validates the Catholic Bishop's opposition to the birth control mandate, and advances the bogus War on Christmas. Most of Ailes top talkers are Christians who frequently invoke their religion. And while there are a few non-Catholic clergy, who occasionally make appearances, the conservative Catholic Fr. Jonathan Morris gets the most face time on Fox. (On Christmas, he had THREE Fox appearances) Sunday, in keeping with his role as a mouthpiece for the Christian right, Morris advanced their concerns in a little hissy fit about how atheists are trying to take prayer out of West Point. Forget Jesus, conservative Christians have a friend in Fox News!
Read moreFr. Jonathan Morris Christmas Message Is More Self Promotion?
In keeping with its role as an unofficial Catholic news outlet, Fox News not only presented part of the Pope's Christmas address (Not his Christmas message in which he said that gay marriage "will destroy the essence of human nature) and two, count em, segments with the one true Fox priest Fr. Jonathan Morris. Yesterday, Morris talked about how, after his presence caused an agitated hospital patient to tear out his IV's, he performed a Christmas miracle when the man calmed down and led a prayer, for Morris and hospital staff, invoking Jesus' name - for Morris, the "true" meaning of Christmas. (Two more miracles and lil Johnny boy will be saint material!) Today, Morris was back on Fox & Friends (One of Three Appearances) to provide his Christmas message which was still mostly about Fr. Morris!

Although Fred Phelps' Westboro Baptist Church is famous for picketing funerals because "God hates fags," for some reason Fox Nation has decided to call them a "left-wing cult." And did you know that Phelps is a Democrat? In Fox Nation he is. (H/T/ Aria) UPDATED

In case you don’t believe me that Fox News crossed the line of whatever journalistic integrity they ever had and into blatant advocacy, maybe you’ll believe Republican Congresswoman Ileana Ros-Lehtinen when she specifically credited Fox News over the release of ex-Marine Jon Hammar, imprisoned in Mexico for illegally bringing a gun into the country. In her own words, Ros-Lehtinen said, “You guys saved his life. I mean, literally.”

Sen. John Barrasso (R-WY) visited Fox News Sunday yesterday where he announced – twice – that President Obama is “eager” to go over the fiscal cliff because he thinks it would enable him to raise taxes and be an all-around political plus. It’s a rather outrageous accusation – yet nobody challenged him on it. Not host Chris Wallace, who otherwise did a decent job moderating the discussion, and not the Democratic guest, Sen. Kent Conrad (D-ND).

While Fox News claims to be "America's Newsroom," the America it represents is very different. The America outside Fox News is religiously diverse, with a growing number of people identifying as "not affiliated." But Fox News' religious perspective is mainly conservative Christian with the majority of the commentary coming from Fr. Jonathan Morris, a former member of the disgraced Legion of Christ, who, unlike other religious contributors, makes frequent appearances on Fox Business and Fox News where he has a weekly gig on Fox & Friends. During the aftermath of the Newtown shooting, his baby face was an ongoing feature of the coverage. In addition to being a loyal mouthpiece for right wing talking points, Morris also provides "inspiration" for the audience such as this morning when he talked about the "meaning of Christmas" which was, of course, a very Catholic Christmas and a very Fr. Jonathan Christmas.

As I posted earlier today, Fox & Friends tried to revive Benghazi-Gate by hyping Sen. James Inhofe’s ridiculous claim that Benghazi is “probably the greatest cover-up in my memory.” Later, on Fox News Sunday, host Chris Wallace brought up the recent State Department investigation which “laid the blame at the Assistant Secretary level, not at the level of Secretary of State Clinton” and asked his panel if the controversy is “effectively over.”

On Friday’s The Five (12/21/12), a segment featuring Dana Perino at a rodeo was interrupted by President Obama speaking on the fiscal cliff. Greg Gutfeld sneered, "So, basically, we're going to preempt Dana Perino's rodeo package for President Obama."
Read moreMegyn Kelly Is Part Of War On Christmas?!
Paging Father Christmas Bill O'Reilly, STAT! There has been a most grievous Christmas transgression by Megyn Kelly. Despite O'Reilly's proscription on using the word "holiday" rather than Christmas, Ms. Kelly's "Kelly's Court" segment was about, OMG (cover your eyes Baby Jesus) "Legal Lessons For Holiday Hosts If Party Guests Get Too Merry" - a chyron that was up for the entire segment. To make matters worse, Ms. Kelly, OMG (cover your ears Baby Jesus) actually uttered that obscene word "holiday." Is Megyn Kelly one of the nasty "secular-progressive" who are trying to ruin Christmas? What say you Bill O'Reilly?
