Gretchen Carlson Hosts Christian Pastor Who Wants Right To Preach On The Beach
It's the Fourth of July, you've got the day off and you want to hit a Delaware beach for some fun in the sun. If so, be prepared to hear more than the sounds of happy beachgoers and ocean waves. Hopefully, you have an I-Pod because otherwise, you might be subjected to the righteous Christian indignation over the denial, by the town of Rehoboth, of a Christian pastor's request to hold weekly summer services on the beach. Rev. Robert Dekker thinks that he has the right to preach on a public beach and is upset that his religious freedom is being denied because of church/state issues. So today's beachgoers will be treated to a protest, "in defiance of tyranny," by pastor and his pals. Helping pastor to get the word out, yesterday, was Jesus BFF' Gretchen Carlson who is always willing to validate those Christians who believe that they not only have a right to religious freedom - but a right to an audience! And who better than Fox & Friends to help him out with that!

It may be one of the biggest American holidays today but something tells me naturalized American citizen Rupert Murdoch may not be in much of a celebratory mood. Besides reports that his soon-to-be ex-trophy wife Wendi Deng has moved on to her third meal ticket, now a secretly recorded meeting with employees caught up in the phone hacking scandal strongly hints that Murdoch’s hands in News Corporation's tabloid scandals are far dirtier than when he made himself out as the victim of wrongdoing by his underlings. When things get hot for the American Taliban GOP, in their war on women support for life, they send out their women's auxiliary to explain that America's daddies know what's best for America's lady parts. That's why Rep. Marsha Blackburn shepherded Rep. Trent Franks' abortion bill through the US House. And that's why Megyn Kelly, on the American anti-choice patriarchy's "news" network, mocks the "war on women" and gets validation from GOP women who think that concern about reproductive rights is offensive. The notion that State Sen. Wendy Davis, who opposes the TX abortion bill, is a heartless savage, who wants to abort "healthy babies" was invoked, Tuesday, during Megyn Kelly's alleged "news" show, the second of two in which only the anti-choice position was articulated by Kelly who was backed up by her female guests. This false narrative was continued yesterday during Kelly's interview with a rabidly anti-choice TX State Senator who supports the bill and is both a woman and a doctor. Kelly might have ripped Erick Erickson a new one about his sexist attitudes, but she's still a loyal handmaiden for the forces of right wing, anti-choice extremism.

Greta Van Susteren took on an extra duty in her Zimmerman defense coverage last night. She found a witness to interview, one who just happened to take Zimmerman’s side. Or as FoxNews.com described their video, “Fellow neighborhood watch volunteer portrays George Zimmerman as defending himself against Trayvon Martin as trial could come down to question of character.” Van Susteren’s questions were designed to elicit not just that but to justify Zimmerman’s racial suspicions. However, Van Susteren left out some important information that might have made a big difference to how her viewers judged this character witness.

Sarah Palin may be the world’s most famous ignoramus but there seems to be no limit to her expertise on Fox News when they put her into a position of criticizing the Obama administration. We’ve previously seen Palin as a business pundit, Benghazi expert, and an authority on the Constitutional ramifications of immigration reform. Monday night (July 1), Palin put her legal hat back on when she appeared on On The Record to offer up her “insights” into IRS employee Lois Lerner pleading the 5th when she appeared before a Congressional inquiry.

Well, this is pretty interesting. Rush Limbaugh visited Fox & Friends this morning where he couldn't have sounded happier with his appearance. But later, he took to his own airwaves to bitch that Fox News wouldn't let him discuss what he wanted to discuss, immigration and the GOP. (H/T Media Matters)

It's official. Megyn Kelly will move to prime time when she returns from maternity leave. This, despite the fact that her 1-3 PM show airing during what Fox calls its "objective news" lineup has been filled with bias, race baiting and Republican boosterism. On the other hand, this is probably exactly what got her the promotion in the first place.
Read moreMegyn Kelly Misrepresents TX Abortion Bill To Attack Wendy Davis
Despite Fox's claim that its "news" shows are "fair & balanced," Megyn Kelly's show is frequently nothing more than a conduit for alleged "news" host Kelly to promote right wing talking points and in so doing, mischaracterize the issue at hand. Such was the case, last week, when she and her anti-choice panelists, Monica Crowley and Kirsten Powers, spun the Texas abortion bill to dismiss the bill's impact on abortion access and to use the Gosnell case in order to justify the need for the legislation. Yesterday, alleged news host Martha MacCallum's pro-life panel also downplayed abortion access in order to attack Wendy Davis for her "ghoulish" opposition to the 20 week abortion. Today, Megyn Kelly stayed with the obvious anti-choice Fox script that calls for ignoring other salient parts of the bill while playing up the alleged inhumanity of late term abortions in order to attack Wendy Davis. And in attacking Ms. Davis, Kelly advanced Kirsten Power's dishonest and derogatory claim that Davis supports those nasty bitches who want to abort "healthy" late term fetuses. Oh yeah, and Gosnell was mentioned. It's all so predictable?
