RNC Chair Priebus Insists ‘We’re A United Party’ - Then Kind Of Proves Otherwise
Less than one week after Sean Hannity announced that Republican Party efforts to unseat Tea Party efforts meant “open warfare” to him, Sean Hannity hosted Republican National Committee chairman Reince Priebus for a friendly chat with only the mildest of pushbacks as Priebus insisted the party is united. But even Priebus gave several hints otherwise.
Read moreFr. Jonathan Morris: Christian Public Prayer Rules So Screw U Atheists, Jews, And Buddhists!
Many of our nation's poorest have just suffered a cutback in their food stamps. But that doesn't seem to be a concern for official Fox priest Jonathan Morris, whose lack of concern about poverty issues suggests that he shares, with his fellow Fox devout conservative Christians, an attitude of Jesus and me and the hell with thee. On Sunday, he used his Sunday Fox & Friends pulpit, for the second time, to express his hopes that the Supreme Court will overturn a lower court decision and allow Greece NY's city council to have public prayer before their meetings - an issue also propagandized by Megyn Kelly. Once again, Fr. Morris, in opining on the issue, did his due diligence in reinforcing Fox's patented anti-atheist narrative. And while, during his last fact free pontification on the topic, Morris denigrated the belief systems of the atheist and Jewish women who brought the original suit, this time he insulted Buddhists. But prayer makes it all good....
Read moreBret Baier Dishonestly Blows The ‘Muslim Invasion’ Dog Whistle About Homeland Security Advisor
On the Political Grapevine segment of Special Report today, “objective” host Bret Baier deliberately hate mongered against an Islamic member of the Department of Homeland Security’s Advisory Council, Mohamed Elibiary. Baier twisted Elibiary’s words to suggest to Fox News viewers that he is some kind of Muslim extremist bent on converting the U.S. to Islam. In fact, Elibiary is a distinguished member of the anti-terrorism community. If you want to know just how low Fox will stoop to smear someone for the sake of fear mongering about the Obama administration, read on.
Read moreSen. Lindsey Graham: The Ted Cruz Wannabe Over Benghazi
It’s Republican Temper Tantrum Tactics Déjà Vu all over again. Only this time, it’s Senator Lindsey Graham – fighting a Tea Party challenge to his re-election next year – instead of Senator Ted Cruz and instead of a government shutdown to defund Obamacare, it’s an equally pointless blockage of presidential nominees to showboat over Benghazi. One of those nominees is the head of Homeland Security. So, apparently, while Graham is holding himself up as some big national security maven, he’s also willing to jeopardize it. Not surprisingly, on yesterday’s Fox News Sunday, Chris Wallace grilled Graham on the political strategy but gave him a pass on the substance (or lack thereof).

I suspect that if, during the Bush administration, a military veteran wrote a book excoriating Bush, he or she would not be warmly welcomed by Fox News. But an ex-Navy Seal, who has written a scathing critique of President Obama, has, twice, gotten the royal treatment on Fox & Friends. In August, 2012, Carl Higbie told the pals that he was forced to retire from the Navy, under threat of a dishonorable discharge, after his book "Battle on the Homefront," his account of how the country is being destroyed by Obama, was published. His claim, that the negative reaction to his book was part of a leftist agenda, was met with credulity by the pals. Yesterday, Higbie was back on Fox & Friends for more unsubstantiated paranoia. He is claiming that the Navy's ban on the "Don't Tread on Me" Navy Jack uniform insignia, worn by Navy Seals, is really part of an agenda being perpetrated by Obama and "his leftist cronies" who hate the Navy Jack flag flying Tea Party. Not surprisingly, Higbie's claim was warmly welcomed by Tucker Carlson who didn't mention that Higbie writes for Carlson's website.

Last Tuesday, a speech being given by NY City Police Commissioner Ray Kelly was shut down when Brown University students, protesting NY City's "stop and frisk" policy, drowned him out. The event was grist for Greg Gutfeld, Bill O'Reilly, and Brain Brian Kilmeade to bloviate about how liberals hate free speech, although I don't remember the aforementioned doing the same thing when rabid teabaggers shouted down their congressional representatives during the summer of 2010 when Obamacare was, quite literally, all the rage. Yesterday, Juliet Huddy discussed the Brown protest with two students from Brown. While the discussion was relatively straightforward and fact based, there was something notably missing.
Read moreBret Baier: Anti-LGBT Discrimination Is OK Because LGBT Is A 'Belief'
The Christian, conservative right wing is vehemently opposed to ENDA (Employment Non Discrimination Act), which would ban discrimination in hiring and employment on the basis of sexual orientation or gender identity." As part of their baseless opposition to this bill, the religious right has concocted a whole range of bogus talking points which, not surprisingly, include public bathrooms and - wait for it - religious freedom. The opposition also includes the standard conservative Christian trope that being gay is a "choice" so why, they ask, should they be forced to accommodate a choice that, in their playbook, is a ticket to the deepest depths of hell. This past Wednesday, official Fox "news" man, Bret Baier did a piece on ENDA that demonstrated, once again, that the "fair & balanced" Fox has chosen to promote the politics of hate and distortion.
Read moreFox News Outrageous Quote Of The Week Poll
It was a bumper crop of outrageousness on Fox last week. If our 14 candidates aren't a record number, it's certainly one of the highest we've had yet. Your choices this week, dear readers, include Dick Cheney justifying the invasion of Iraq, Shannon Bream worrying that anti-bullying measures will somehow oppress conservatives, impeachment talk, the War on Christmas and a new psychoanalysis from Dr. Keith Ablow. And, of course, lots of outrageousness about ObamaCare. Click through if you dare...
Read moreFox News Panelists Debate: Should We Cut, Crack Down Or Abolish Food Stamps?
On Fox News' “Cost of Freedom” business block yesterday, freedom from hunger seemed to be one “cost” that’s too high for these fat cats. Ignoring how 87% of households receiving SNAP benefits (commonly referred to as “food stamps”) have elderly, children or disabled members, the “fair and balanced” opinions ranged from suggesting there’s a major problem with fraud to calls for abolishing the program altogether. Just in time for the 5% food stamp cut that hit last week and looking ahead to GOP desires for $39 billion more (as opposed to Democratic desires to cut “only” $4 billion). Everybody except one on the panel seemed to agree that cuts are necessary. There was very little discussion about how cuts might hurt.
