Jon Stewart Mocks Fox's Ukraine Coverage

Posted by Ellen · February 26, 2014 12:30 PM

Jon Stewart took on Fox's superficial, Republican-oriented coverage of the Ukraine last night. As usual, he not only got in some funny digs at many of our favorite targets, but he made some important points about our news.

Hannity Guest Smears Dominican And Overweight Food Stamp Recipients

Posted by Ellen · February 26, 2014 8:30 AM · 5 reactions

Whether Gavin McInnes was joking or not when he smeared Dominicans on food stamps and overweight poor people last night, his comments were in bad taste, to say the least. But what was even worse was how none of the others people on the Hannity show called him out on them.

Hannity Debates Congressional Candidate Who Says Fox ‘Does Nothing But Tell Lies And Mistruths’

Posted by Ellen · February 25, 2014 11:04 PM · 6 reactions

You gotta love Congressional candidate Mike Dickinson (D-VA) for having the gumption to tell Fox News and Sean Hannity that they’re liars and hate mongers. If only Dickinson had been better prepared for his appearance!

O’Reilly’s Plan To Unseat President Obama Over Benghazi

Posted by Ellen · February 25, 2014 8:12 PM · 8 reactions

Bill O’Reilly apparently thinks that if only the Republicans can prove President Obama was told the Benghazi attack was a terrorist attack on the night of the attack, it will be Watergate all over again and President Obama can be “convicted.” Yes, “convicted” is the term O’Reilly used.

Recently, Fox's Judge Andrew Napolitano went after President Abraham Lincoln and his legacy. Among other things, Napolitano accused Lincoln of needlessly starting the Civil War. Watch how Stewart and The Daily Show's Larry Wilmore shredded Napolitano's argument!

Why Does Dick Cheney Want To Cut Food For The Troops?

Posted by Ellen · February 25, 2014 1:43 PM · 7 reactions

Dick Cheney visited the Hannity show last night for the obvious purpose of providing a high-ranking attack on the Obama administration’s decision to downsize the military. But, unfortunately for them, Cheney undercut his own credibility when he suggested that food stamps should be cut more instead. Either Cheney didn’t know or didn’t care how much military families rely on food stamps.

Andrea Tantaros, Martha MacCallum: If Gays Don't Shop Where They're Not Wanted, They Won't Be Discriminated Against!

Posted by Priscilla · February 25, 2014 12:25 PM · 6 reactions

Anti-gay Christian victimhood has been taken to a whole new level with the passage of the so called Arizona Jim Crow law which was passed by the assembly and now awaits a signature or veto from the governor. The law allows business owners, on the basis of their religious beliefs, to refuse to provide service to gay and lesbian customers. This morning, "news" host Martha MacCallum and her guests discussed this law. While Juan Williams said the law is discriminatory, Andrea Tantaros suggested that the controversy over laws like this, which make Christians look like bigots, could be avoided if gay folks avoid anti-gay business. MacCallum recommended that "the market" forces take over. I guess if African-Americans had only avoided all those segregated hotels, restaurants, water coolers, etc. we wouldn't have had to deal with those troublesome Civil Rights that made white Americans look like bigots?

On Fox & Friends: Bullets Stopped By Pocket Bible Sign Of 'Divine Intervention'

Posted by Priscilla · February 25, 2014 10:35 AM · 4 reactions

That Fox News moonlights as religious broadcasting was evident, once again, on this morning's Fox & Friends First when the gang talked, in credulous terms, about how a bus driver would have been killed if not for his pocket bible which stopped the bullets. According to the leggy blonde hosts, the driver can "literally thank the words of God." Ordained minister and one of a few chosen African-Americans to host Fox week-end shows (no regular black hosts during the week), Kelly Wright said that "the good book saved his life." The chyron stated, as Fox Fact, that this was "divine intervention." As was said in Plan 9 From Outer Space, "that proves it." But what would the Fox say if the driver had been carrying a stash of porn?

Rupert Murdoch’s ‘Angry Dude’ Tweets Denying Climate Change

Posted by Ellen · February 24, 2014 10:45 PM · 2 reactions

If you follow Rupert Murdoch on Twitter (which I do), you know that he regularly spouts off his conservative opinions without any pretense at being fair and balanced. MSNBC’s Chris Hayes recently discussed Murdoch's tweets, saying the media mogul “uses Twitter like an angry dude who spends all day on conservative message boards. He doesn’t like something? He’s hittin’ 'tweet.'”

Discussion About Walmart Turns Into A Bashfest Against Occupy Wall Street Protesters

Posted by Brian · February 24, 2014 5:24 PM · 1 reaction

Cavuto on Business spent a lot of time defending Walmart this weekend. In particular, the show focused on Mike Rowe’s new ad for the stores promoting their purchase of $250 billion in U.S. goods. But before long, the guests were taking cheap shots at Walmart and Occupy Wall Street protesters.
