Howard Kurtz’ MediaBuzz show again discussed the media coverage of the missing Malaysian jet, Flight 370, today. Kurtz correctly complained about irresponsible speculation that has filled so much airtime. But when Kurtz’ own Republican guest presented an unfounded theory as fact... crickets.

Fox News took an abrupt about-face today when Fox News Sunday chose as its “Power Player of the Week” Donald Graham for his work in helping DREAMers get college scholarships. Given Fox's coziness with Republicans, you have to consider whether this signals the start of a new GOP strategy for appealing to Latinos in 2014 and 2016.

We can add today's "fair and balanced" Fox News Sunday to our long - and growing - list of FNS shows that somehow failed to include any Democratic politicians or policymakers in its lineup. But we have yet to see a Fox News Sunday show without Republican politicians or policymakers!

Back in 2011, when children accompanied those who were protesting GOP changes to laws governing public employee unions, Fox's Peter Johnson Jr. said that this was like "something out of Red China" and that he had "never before seen kids used in that fashion." Later that year, Johnson and his fellow Fox fiends friends were appalled by a MoveOn ad which featured children expressing progressive talking points. Yet, the same folks who were just so concerned about kids being "used" by liberals, have never shown the same concern when it comes to kids promoting right wing memes. Just last week, Fox & Friends presented a segment featuring a 9 year old gun lover who is opposed to New Jersey legislation that would limit magazine capacities. The Fox pals, in this case, weren't concerned about a child being "used" for political purposes

It has been nearly five years since Sean Hannity promised to undergo waterboarding - or, as he called it, "dunking" - for charity in order to prove that it's not torture. So is Hannity's failure to make good on his promise proof that he knows that waterboarding really is torture? Or do promises only matter to Hannity when Democrats make them? I report, you decide!

Ohio Republican Governor John Kasich visited Your World this week, ostensibly to discuss the looming deadline to sign up for the Affordable Care Act.  But host Neil Cavuto threw out “questions” designed to showcase Kasich’s strong points. Which Kasich took full advantage of. It just so happens that Kasich’s 2014 opponent has recently moved within striking distance in the polls.

Last night, Bill O’Reilly discussed a Fortune magazine list of the top 50 leaders on earth. He and guest Mike Huckabee went over six names on the list, including Angelina Jolie. O’Reilly complained that Jolie is not an effective leader – at least in part because she has not appeared on his show.

Congratulations to Dr. Keith Ablow. His nutty psychoanalysis of President Obama and Vladimir Putin that blamed Obama for the crisis in the Ukraine was not just outrageous, it was voted the most outrageous quote of the week last week.

The missing Malaysia Airlines flight is producing an abundance of coverage, not all of it lucid. While the so called liberal media has hosted some strange speculation regarding the disappearance of the plane, Fox News seems to have cornered the market on crazy talk with two appearances of retired Lt. General Thomas McInerney, unapologetic birther, and general all around whack job who proffered his bizarro world theories on what really happened. And what made it even crazier is that both Sean Hannity and Megyn Kelly took him seriously.

It’s hard to believe that Fox News really thinks that President Obama is just sitting around filling in his NCAA brackets and saying, “Ukraine can wait until I’m finished.” Or “I’ll get around to the problem eventually.”  But that’s exactly the image a “fair and balanced” panel – all with similar anti-Obama views – promoted on Wednesday’s Special Report
