Kimberly Guilfoyle: I think Stephen Colbert Admires Fox

Posted by Ellen · February 06, 2014 6:03 PM · 4 reactions

File this one under “Wishful Thinking” - along with Geraldo Rivera’s claim that Jon Stewart has turned on Democrats and Sean Hannity’s pretense that The Daily Show was actually begging him not to leave New York, instead of mocking him.

James Carville's Fox News Suck Up Pays Off: He's Hired As A Contributor

Posted by Ellen · February 06, 2014 3:41 PM · 14 reactions

James Carville has officially sold himself to the GOP. Fox News announced today that he has joined their ranks as a paid contributor. Apparently, announcing on the air two nights ago that he and the rest of the Democrats "might be wrong" in believing that Fox "tilts right," (never mind that it "might be" an arm of the Republican party) got him just where he wanted to be.

Fr. Jonathan Morris 'Loves' Ann Coulter!

Posted by Priscilla · February 06, 2014 11:23 AM · 5 reactions

Fr._Morris_hearts_ann_coulter.jpg

The official Catholic Catechism says that "deliberate hatred is contrary to charity." So you would think that Holy Mother Church wouldn't look too kindly at a person who says stuff like the murder of an abortion provider wasn't "murder" but late term abortion, or that  "we should invade their [Muslim] countries, kill their leaders and convert them to Christianity," or Latinos are "the bottom of the barrel" - just to cite a few of the gems which pour forth from Ann Coulter's mouth. But official Fox Catholic priest and Roger Ailes' special friend, Fr. Jonathan Morris doesn't seem to care about this type of hateful invective from one of his fellow Fox contributors whom he hearts but disagrees with over immigration. Right wing communion whine is thicker than water?

O’Reilly Announces He’s ‘Making Jon Stewart Understand America’

Posted by Ellen · February 05, 2014 11:47 PM · 15 reactions

Apparently, Jon Stewart touched a nerve last night with his devastating takedown of Bill O’Reilly’s Super Bowl interview with President Obama. So tonight, O’Reilly fired back with a Talking Points Memo called, “Making Jon Stewart Understand America.” Unfortunately for O’Reilly, I think he only made himself look out of touch.

Ann Coulter’s Dead ObamaCare Victim Story Just As Fishy As Her Voting Record

Posted by Aria and Ellen · February 05, 2014 5:31 PM · 5 reactions

Ann Coulter told Fox & Friends an “ObamaScare” story Sunday about a friend’s sister whose death was supposedly caused by the Affordable Care Act. Host Tucker Carlson accepted the story without question, much less fact checking. Instead, he blurted out a soap-opera worthy, “That’s terrible!” Today, PolitiFact has rated Coulter's tale "Pants on Fire."

Jon Stewart Smacks Down O'Reilly's Super Bowl Interview And Fox's Hypocritical Reaction

Posted by Ellen · February 05, 2014 2:56 PM · 3 reactions

Jon Stewart gave Bill O'Reilly's Super Bowl interview with President Obama a comic shellacking last night. Then Stewart followed that up with an even bigger shellacking for the rest of Fox News' phony-baloney hissy fit over Obama's supposed "deflecting." With special ridicule for Andrea Tantaros.

Megyn Kelly Pimps Outrage Over Christian Movie Oscar Snub With Anti-Obama Film Producer

A Golden Globe nominated Taylor Swift song and a folk inspired piece from "Inside Llewyn Davis" were snubbed by this year's Oscar nomination for Best Original Song. But discussion about this pales when compared to howls of righteous Christian indignation over how a song, from an evangelical Christian movie, got an Oscar snub. The reason for doing so is clear. The songwriter e-mailed the song to members of the Academy and this was seen as an attempt to gain "unfair advantage." But in the world of Fox News, Christians are allowed to break the rules and those who call them out on it are part of Satan's minions. On yesterday's Fox & Friends, two of Fox's professional Christians Peter Johnson Jr. and Elisabeth Hasselbeck advanced the outrage in yet another patented persecuted Christian pity party. The patented evil Hollywood "picks on" godly Christians Fox narrative was advanced, later in the day, by "truth detector" Megyn Kelly who cited the Fox "brain room" to advance the agitprop.

Cavuto Uses Scott Brown’s Shirtless Photo To Promote His Candidacy

Posted by · February 05, 2014 9:00 AM · 1 reaction

Neil Cavuto blatanntly promoted Fox News contributor Scott Brown ae a great candidate because of his good looks yesterday. Cavuto noted that Brown is tied in a poll with New Hampshire Sen. Jeanne Shaheen and he made a special point of letting Brown, formerly a Senator in Massachusetts, say he lives in New Hampshire (a sore point). But mostly Cavuto praised how Brown looked in a shirtless photo after a polar plunge.

James Carville Not Sure Whether Or Not Fox News ‘Tilts Right’

Posted by Ellen · February 04, 2014 11:53 PM · 8 reactions

Hillary Clinton and President Obama must have hit quite the nerve with their Super Bowl smackdowns of Fox News bias on Sunday. That is, if the network’s ongoing hissy fit over them is any indication. Tonight, James Carville was handed his own opportunity to smack down Fox on a proverbial silver platter and – he mostly gave them a pass.

Fox’s Unfair, Unbalanced Fear Mongering About Obama’s Executive Orders

Posted by Brian · February 04, 2014 6:46 PM · 1 reaction

Last week, Fox News host Eric Bolling helped Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) fear monger about President Obama’s using executive actions to bypass Congress, and his bill to enable (junk) lawsuits to stop it. Predictably, no mention was made of how executive orders have been upheld by the Supreme Court and have been used for such actions as the emancipation of slavery.
