21st Century Fox Says Ailes Will Report To Murdoch Sons, Not Rupert

Ruh-roh! The Murdochs are saying that Roger Ailes is going to have to report to the guy he called a "f***ing dope" after all.

From The Hollywood Reporter:

Fox News chairman and CEO Roger Ailes will in fact report to James and Lachlan Murdoch when the sons of Rupert Murdoch assume control of 21st Century Fox on July 1.

The revelation comes after the Ailes-run Fox Business Network reported June 11 that Ailes would continue to report to Rupert even after Rupert handed official control of the company to his sons.

"Roger will report to Lachlan and James but will continue his unique and long-standing relationship with Rupert,” 21st Century Fox spokesperson Nathaniel Brown said in a statement to The Hollywood Reporter.

I recently noted that Ailes has butted heads with both Murdoch sons, that he called James a "f***ing dope" and that James' environmentalist wife once worked for the uber-villainous (to Fox) Clinton Foundation.

So will the sons let Ailes run the money-earning juggernaut that is Fox News unimpeded? Or will the three find it impossible to get along? And will the 75 year-old Ailes even want to try, given that, as THR noted, his contract is up next summer?

As long as the ratings remain where they are I don’t think we’ll see any noticeable changes. Even if Ailes leaves, gets fired or dies they’ll be someone else continuing with the same format and agenda as long as the advertising revenue keeps flowing in, if the ratings collapse then you’ll see changes, Ailes or not.

the fox board will not let the ‘boys’ get rid of ailes. he’s making newscorpse inc. way too much money for the board and stock holders like the saudi prince whos the 2nd largest holder, behind the trust fund boys.

Jabba the Ailes and the Murdoch Boys will soon be sniping at each other through their friendly media outlets. It’s a even money bet whether Jabba makes it to the end of his contract.
