Fox & Friends Attacks Anti-Trump Protesters As Unpatriotic 'Crybabies'

Fox News loved Tea Party protesters. You know, those patriots who disrupted town hall meetings and featured images of President Obama sporting a Hitler mustache or dressed as an African witch doctor. But the same love isn't being shown to anti-Trump protesters who, according to the maker of a "viral" video, are America-hating "crybabies."

Monday's Fox & Friends provided free face time for Thaddeus Dionne Alexander whose "viral" video is making the rounds of the Trump-loving internet fever swamps. Steve Doocy reported that "a retired Air Force veteran's rant" has "gone viral over his message to those anti-Trump protesters you see on the street." He played part of the video in which Alexander, an African-American, scolded protesters for "being crybabies." Despite the fact that the majority of the protests were peaceful, he accused the protesters of "acting like two years olds, burning up people's stuff."

After Ainsley Earhardt proclaimed that the video has been seen by over seventeen million people, Doocy introduced the video maker. Doocy asked him why he did the video. Alexander spoke about how, prior to the election, people accused Trump supporters of being angry and "wanting to have guns and kill babies." He accused the protesters of being hypocrites.

Of course, nobody mentioned Fox fave Sheriff David Clarke's call for mob violence during the campaign.

After his powers of prognostication were praised for having said he knew that Trump would win, Alexander asserted that his video wasn't "about Trump at all."

Doocy provided the VERY IMPORTANT FOX MESSAGE in his summary of the situation: "Part of it, Thaddeus, was directed to the people who now, after their candidate lost, you know, you're saying, 'We're tired of you crybabies. You know your candidate lost. Come on, let's embrace America. That's what makes America great.'"

I'll bet Steve Doocy never scolded Rush Limbaugh for saying that he wanted Obama to fail!

Alexander noted that nobody rioted when Obama was elected and said, "This is just outrageous." (Again, only a small segment of the protesters, in Portland, Oregon "rioted.") In an effort to pimp the mindless patriotism that Fox is so noted for, Doocy asked Alexander why he is proud of the U.S.A. Alexander provided this gem: "Being a black man, there is no other country where we're accepted like we are in the US." (Guess that white dude was just being accepting when he punched an African-American at a Trump rally!) Alexander also made the absurd claim that "this is the only country where you can be openly gay, homosexual."

He preached: "To preserve that right, we need to preserve this country. We need to stop burning. We need to stand for the Pledge of Allegiance, and we need to be proud of what we have here." Nobody mentioned that our rights include the right to burn flags and not say the Pledge.

Earhardt said, "Amen" and Doocy chirped, "There you go." Doocy told viewers to go to the Fox & Friends website where the video is posted.

On Fox & Friends, not all protests are created equal?

And memo to Mr. Alexander and Fox & Friends: Your candidate won. Why are his supporters involved in "more than 300 cases of hateful harassment or intimidation in the US since Election Day?" Isn't it time to "embrace America?!"

Addendum: Throughout the segment, quotes from the video were excerpted on the lower-third banners.

Watch the jingoism below, from the November 14, 2016 Fox & Friends.

Does anyone else remember the dinner meeting held on the very night of Barack’s Inauguration (organized by the execrable Rove, I think) where all the Republican movers and shakers vowed to block, dishonour and undermine Obama at every turn to make him a one-term Prez? These people and their minions are pure poison.

Truman, look who voted for Trump. Last time I checked Archie Bunker was white. 👀

David, objectivist Paul Ryan will have to move quickly to repeal ACA and turn Medicare into a voucher system. Recall Trump swore allegiance to Ryan he’d support privatizing Social Security. Ryan hopes to turn America into a Dickens novel and he can only for sure count on the next 2 years to pull it off.

I try to avoid the news but I did see the story of the woman already planning her funeral knowing she’ll lose her health insurance when ACA is axed.

Sessions, Pompeo and Flynn. It’s good to be an old white guy in Trumpland.

Trump is picking the worst of the worst. Certifiable assholes. I am thinking this to make Donald J Trump look good by comparison.

I never figured the dems were in any position to oppose much of anything. I’m saying this is almost exclusively all up to Donald Trump. What he wants to get in for.

These guys are moving extremely quickly. He just named Jeff Sessions as AG, and Sessions is to the right of even Giuliani. In saner days, Sessions was considered too far Right Wing and too racist to be confirmed by the Senate in the 1980s.

What we’re seeing right now is them setting up the immediate repeal of the ACA on January 20. Medicare will take a little longer for them to adjust but they’ll do it within the first 100-200 days of 2017. The Dems do not have the votes to stop this behavior unless they are prepared to filibuster everything past roll call, and I do not believe they want to do that. Most likely, the Dems will roll over and allow Trump to do whatever he wants short of replacing Ginsburg with another Alito.

if this was a Clinton protest no doubt fox would consider the protesters to be “patriots”

They better get their Thaddeus Alexanders lined up. If the Trump administration wants to bring on civil disobedience, they have their plate full. Forget about any crackpot war dreamed up by Putin and Trump that makes the Iraq invasion look well thought out.

Consider Paul Ryan’s lust to kill Medicare. Boy talk about an easy one to oppose, a bill that would off grandma and grandpa should be a no brainer. Maybe they’ll wait a while before making the grandparents stock up on Alpo.

They want to shitcan ACA. Well maybe nobody will notice that one so much. Except for me and tens of million others.

I think if Trump wants to play it smart, he’ll do very little except get together with Nancy Pelosi and create a bunch of construction jobs. Maybe he will go through with what he said. Time will soon tell. If he wants trouble, Portland was just the clearing of the throat.

Be prepared for this kind of viciousness to continue and worsen over the next two to four years. It doesn’t matter that the Right regularly threw foul tantrums over the course of Obama’s terms. It doesn’t matter that the Right gamed the system by folding their arms for 8 years and refusing to vote for anything. All that matters now is that they got away with it.

Their intent now, clearly stated, is to act like the last 8 years never happened and to slap down any uppity protesters who don’t like it. Conway is already threatening, as Trump did before, to intimidate protest via litigation and even criminal proceedings.

There’s a YUUUUGE difference between the left and the right in this instance.

If Hillary had won, the right would be arguing the election was fixed or rigged or stolen and they’d be flipping over cop cars and setting them alight.

The current protestors are NOT saying the election was fixed but rather accept the election was fair — but they are protesting the actual PERSON who is a misogynist, sexual predator, and has ties to Russian banks.

Hey Fox— can you even comprehend the difference…?

Nah, I didn’t think so —…

Because we know, of course, there was no sour grapes and whining on Fox News’ part all the years after their Republican candidates lost to Obama.

The hypocrisy I get. It’s impossible for humans to be consistent. But Fox News is always so stupid about it.
