Fox & Friends Can't Believe That Christians Do Bad Things

Last Thursday, the curvy couch Christians contributed to the collective Fox/right wing freak out over Obama's reference to Christianity when he said that religion can be used to excuse violence. In suggesting that Obama hates Christians, the pals were, as usual, full of pious baloney!

Roger Ailes "attack poodle" and "savage parody of a morning news empty grin" Steve Doocy cranked up the patented Fox & Friends outrage machine. He shouted about how as Jordan "is seeking revenge on the terrorists," our Kenyan born, Marxist, secret Muslim leader was "essentially saying, you know what, yeah, ISIS is bad, but you know what Christians were just as bad as ISIS was a couple of centuries ago." Video of Obama's evil remarks was played just to make sure that you Christians were properly outraged.

As Brain (whoops Brian) Kilmeade dismissed the Crusades as something that happened a long time ago, the banner reminded you that Obama criticized sacred Christianity. And despite the FACT that Obama was very critical of ISIS, Kilmeade said that "it seemed" that the President was "making excuses for ISIS behavior" and claiming that "we started it." (Uh, no) Poor Brian just couldn't understand this "unfathomable" commentary. In taking up the Fox cross, Elisabeth Hasselbeck chirped that Christians had nothing to do with the video of the Jordanian pilot being burned - a video that was shown in its entirety on Fox News.

The Foxies continued to rant about how Obama was insulting "Our Savior," a term that would be insulting to non-Christians (he's not their lord) but then they're not watching Fox & Friends. Doocy made sure to engage in the patented Fox Islam bashing when he said that slavery ended in 1865 - but it's still practiced in Muslim countries. Not suprisingly, he didn't mention how Christianity was part of Jim Crow because for Fox and its audience, those where the good old days. Hasselbeck whined that Obama said that Christianity was the ISIS of its time (Yeah, it was) and dared the President to say that to the Pope during his upcoming visit.

Awww poor Fox Christians. Christians would never do a bad thing, except when an LGBT person is assaulted or an abortion doctor is shot in which cases Jesus and Roger Ailes probably think they got what was coming to them and, anyway, Muslims are way worse!

If real and supposed Christians do not do bad things, why is repentance part of the faith?

It always amazes me how incapable of critical thought the F&F 3 stooges are. Instead of offering up a fair & balanced discussion on the matter of Obama’s comments, they deliberately fib about what Obama said (such as Kilmeade’s stupid quip highlighted in Priscilla’s post) and purport to speak for all Christians. Hey, stooges NOT all Christians are insulted by what Obama said as they perfectly understand the larger point he was trying to make. But FOX “news” doesn’t want the folks to even consider the valid points and the bigger picture involved with regards to Obama’s remarks. Outrage is all FOX “news” has and they will incite it by misrepresenting, hiding context and lying if need be.

Btw, did anyone else notice that not one word has been said on F&F the past 2 days about the issue of gay marriage in Alabama? That the current Chief Justice of the Alabama Supreme Court, Judge Moore, has instructed AL probate judges and state employees to disregard a federal ruling so that they can enforce the state’s gay marriage ban?! I find it to be a very glaring omission that was no doubt deliberate considering that it’s big news that just happened. Morning Joe did a good job covering it this morning but F&F, eh, not so much.

If Christians don’t do bad things then why do they say they’re forgiven when they do?

This is all so very confusing. I should have stayed in bed.
