Fox News "mouth breather"Todd Starnes actually told his his pals in the SPLC designated homophobic hate group, The Family Research Council, that he "prides himself on his accuarcy" and that - wait for it - his readers are "getting the most accurate information possible." Somebody give me an ROFLMAO because, as so astutely pointed out by his critics, Todd is a "shit stirrer" who writes "formulaic columns in which he wildly misrepresents the actual set of circumstances, sources an anonymous person who always has some sort of excuse for why he or she must remain shrouded, and then tries his damnedest to create a national incident out of whole cloth, working with pals like Tony Perkins and Bryan Fischer (Starnes is a regular guest of both gentlemen's radio shows) to rile up the choir." But it's not only his columns, his tweets are full of glaring and incendiary statements, one of which isn't even supported by his actual article. But Toddles does love him his greasy Southern food and if it clogs up arteries, it probably clogs up the brain?!
While Toddles loves his Double Chocolate Fudge Coca-Cola Cake, he is not fond of blacks, gays, Muslims and the US military which, according to Toddles, is persecuting Christian soldiers who just want to preach that God hates fags their faith. And when they can't do that, it's seen as a violation of their religious liberty. Back in May, Starnes pulled, from his rather large posterior, some bogus bullshit about how military Christians are under attack by the US military. He asserted, both on Fox News and in his column, that Christian soldiers will now be court martialed if they proclaim their faith - a claim that has been given a "pants on fire" (ewww) rating by Politifact.
His latest crock of crap involves a story that he's been peddling about the alleged discipline of an Air Force sergeant who told Starnes that he was relieved of his duties, by his openly lesbian superior, because she didn't agree with his views on same sex marriage. The Air Force responded that this man, now a darling of the Christian right, was not punished and that Philip Monk was relieved of duties because he was at the end of his assignment, a move that is not unusual. But Monk is still pissed off and he want back to Starnes who wrote another article which repeated the original claims and added Monk's comments about how the military is a "social engineering petri dish" and a place where "Christians are trading places with homosexuals." According to Starnes, Monk is now under investigation for making false statements to Starnes and could face a court martial.
So in order to get his fellow Jesus loving, homo hating fans to just seethe with righteous Christian rage, Toddles posted a tweet which linked to the article: "Air Force threatens & punishes at least six Southern Baptist airmen for their religious beliefs." But the only reference, in the article, to these alleged martyrs is this sentence: "Steve Branson is the pastor of Village Parkway BaptistChurch, about five miles from the Air Force base. He tells me that as many as a half dozen of his church members are currently facing persecution on the base for their religious beliefs."
Yowzea. So in keeping with his template, Toddles produced another "formulaic column" which "misrepresents" the facts. While he identifies his source, he provides no further information for the "half-dozen" ("six" in the Tweet) airmen who are being "punished" (another misrepresentation, we don't know!) in order to create "a national incident."
Toddles should be proud of such "accuracy." But one thing is for sure. Toddles sure does seem to love a man in uniform!
