The day after the Boston bombing, former Democratic congressman Barney Frank expressed the belief that budget cuts make emergency response, such as that seen in Boston, more difficult. Seems like a pretty rational statement of fact but this comment sent Bill O'Reilly even further over the edge to which he is precariously clinging. As News Hounds Ellen reported, O'Reilly wasted no time in attacking Frank for having "politicized" the Boston bombing. But in the interests of "fair & balanced," O'Reilly brought Frank on The Factor so he could defend his position or, as noted on Fox News Insider, "take Barney Frank to task." And in so doing, O'Reilly scolded Frank about not waiting longer before making a political statement. But funny, O'Reilly didn't apply the same standard to a Republican sitting member of congress who did just what O'Reilly accused Frank of doing! What????
When congressman Steve King said, less than 24 hours after the bombing, that immigration reform shouldn't be rushed because the perpetrators might be foreign nationals and possibly Saudi, O'Reilly lightly chided him in the name of "fair & balanced." On the other hand, he attacked Frank in three segments. Oh, right, King is a conservative Republican and Frank is a liberal Democrat. Silly me!!!!!
