Megyn Kelly Uses "Attacks" On Rick Warren To Attack "Some" Gays?

Posted by Priscilla -25.80pc on April 08, 2013 · Flag

According to certain right wing haters (I'm looking at you, Michelle Malkin) who spend time perusing liberal blogs to cherry pick hateful comments, a bunch of nasty gay people are saying nasty things about Rick Warren. A number of the featured tweets suggest a link between Warren's anti-gay beliefs and the recent suicide of his son who was described, by Warren, as suffering from depression. Not surprisingly, alleged news host Megyn Kelly, who never wastes an opportunity to present a Christian right wing "outrage," reported on these "vicious attacks." So was it a coincidence that one of her guests (the other being official Fox priest Jonathan Morris) was Tony Perkins, head of the SPLC designated homophobic hate group, The Family Research Council. Kelly just couldn't understand the hateful commentary. I guess she's never seen what's on Fox Nation!

Today, she opened her America Live segment with dramatic commentary about how Rick Warren is "under attack" after his son's suicide. Slowly pronouncing each word of her commentary, she intoned that Warren has been "scorned and attacked for his faith and his beliefs... the vitriol on line that's being directed at pastor warren right now [she scrunched up her face] is nothing short of shocking. It's disgusting."

She explained to her guest, the head of the homophobic hate group, the FRC and Fox's resident catholic priest Father Jonathan Warren, that much of the hateful rhetoric involves Warren's views on gay marriage which Warren doesn't support. She claimed that "some" who support gay marriage are "using this occasion as an excuse to take a terrible shot at the family." Morris validated her with his comment that he's "seen a lot of that." He described the attacks as "nasty." He praised Warren as "a great man" who "offers a love filled voice of moral reasoning." Kelly said that "if you want to find hate go look up anonymous postings on the internet."  She read a quote, an unnamed source that described Warren as "a monster." (Funny, Kelly never said anything when a Catholic Bishop, from the pulpit, compared the president to Hitler and Stalin!)

Tony Perkins  praised Warren, especially his work involving AIDS  and noted that "he has done so much to reach out and mitigate the consequences and things that have been associated with promiscuity and yet those very people are the ones who have said some of the most hateful and vicious things about him." He urged people to take a time out and grieve.  Looking mighty pissed, Kelly read part of an article, from the conservative Washington Times, which condemned those "who take joy in the pain of the Warren family." Morris continued to gush over Warren and splutter about those "despicable" people who "go after him" on the internet. He urged viewers to go to the internet to share their love for Warren.

Kelly told Perkins that he can relate to the opinion that Warren is on "the wrong side of the gay issue" because he has been "subject to attacks and it seems like some, not all, some of those who want tolerance, acceptance in their effort to get it are very willing to pass judgment, alienate, attack and go about it in a way that might be undermining the very thing they seek." Perkins agreed and said that Warren would tell the gay community that he loves them and they have hope and peace in Jesus.

When Dr. Tiller was murdered, Fox Nation had to take down the thread because of the vitriol about how Tiller, the "baby killer," got what he deserved. Megyn Kelly said nothing about that. Fox Nation has posted actual death threats directed against the president. Megyn Kelly said nothing about that or any of the other hateful racist and homophobic commentary on a site run by her network. Seems like Megyn Kelly is quite selective about her outrage. And if she really wants to "find hate" directed towards the gay people that she appeared to be smearing, she really needs to read some of the positions of the Family Research Council - a group that has far more influence than anonymous gay bloggers!

So Megyn is doing The Onion’s job now? “Bubble-enclosed white lady cannot believe the nasty things people post on the Internet”
