The rabid right wing hasn't changed much from their glory days of Joe McCarthy red baiting. Much of "Tailgunner Joe's" ire was focused on Hollywood which, according to McCarthy, was a hotbed of communism. The term, "Hollywood Jews," was popular amongst those who felt that the Hollywood community was anti-American. Flash forward to 2012 and the right still hates Hollywood. While the aforementioned anti-Semitic term has been replaced by "Hollywood liberals, they are still hated by the right wing whose animosity is further fueled by Hollywood's support of President Obama. In addition to their liberal views, the right bashes Hollywood figures for their supposed hypocrisy. This meme was advanced on this morning's Fox & Friends by Jason Mattera, another nice Christian heterosexual lad who bashed the mother of a young man murdered by homophobes, attacked diversity during a 2010 CPAC speech in which he "joked" that President Obama snorts cocaine, and tried to set up a whites only scholarship while he was in college to protest minority scholarships - despite his having received one himself. So the lesson, folks, is that Obama, in addition to palling around with scary black men, pals around with "Hollywood hypocrites." Seriously, is that all they've got?

The theme of the piece was about Hollywood hypocrisy and, as asserted by the chyron, "the truth about President Obama's biggest backers." Bolling framed the agitprop immediately in his comment about how, in his campaign for reelection, the president is "relying on the Hollywood support he got in 2008." Brain (whoops Brian) Kilmeade asked if these celebrities are "practicing what they preach." He introduced Mattera who is the author of - wait for it - "Hollywood Hypocrites, the Devastating Truth About Obama's Biggest Backers." Mattera, a talk show host on the right wing WABC where Sean Hannity used to chat up white supremacist Hal "from Bergen," Turner, was animated as he talked about his research into whether "Obama's biggest backers live by the same policy prescriptions that Obama seeks to inflict on the rest of America and they don't."

In criticizing Harrison Ford's role in a "global warming propaganda" film, Mattera mocked how Ford compared the pain that he felt in having his chest waxed with the pain felt by the atmosphere in absorbing large amounts of carbon dioxide. As he spoke, the chyron further framed the Fox message with a "Cavuto marked" question: "Just an Act, Mattera, Celebs Don't Follow 'Liberal' Agenda." The guys chuckled as Mattera mentioned Ford's seven planes and Ford's comment that he flies up the Californiacoast to get a hamburger. Mattera didn't mention that Ford has used his aircraft to rescue hikers and fly children involved in youth aviation programs. The background graphic was a photo of Obama next to the famous Hollywood hills sign.

Mattera then trashed Barbra Streisand who promotes environmentalism whilst supposedly paying $22,000 to water her lawn. Mattera didn't provide any information on how he knows this fact which seems to have first surfaced in a 2005 article in the far right, World Net Daily. He didn't mention all her philanthropic work. He cited more information which purported to show that she is a hypocrite. Bolling went after Bon Jovi and Springsteen because of the carbon footprints of their concert. Mattera mentioned that Bon Jovi raises bees as a write off on his property taxes - a point mentioned in GOP Senator Tom Coburn's report about how millionaires utilize the tax code for their benefit. So thank you Jason for making a point about the 1%. While Mattera claimed that Bon Jovi "decries tax cuts for the rich," I couldn't find any sources for that.

You heard it here, folks. Those Hollywood types are just so evil. Jason Mattera says so, so in the words of that immortal piece of Hollywood cinematography "Plan 9 From Outer Space," "that proves it!"
