Fox Nation Tebow Defending Christians(?) Wish Injury On "Pig Maher"

Posted by Priscilla -26.60pc on January 04, 2012 · Flag

When professional "Christians" whine about how they are being unfairly maligned, they really need to do an "examination of conscience" or at least look at the comments, from their fellow Jesus' BFF's on Fox Nation which, like Fox News, is a "Christian" Nation. And nothing gets the "Christian" dander up, at both Fox News and Fox Nation, than any lampooning directed towards Tim Tebow who has attained godlike status on Fox. And now that Bill Maher ("Pig Maher" as he's known on Fox Nation) has had the audacity to skewer Jesus' brother by another mother, he has, once again, earned the wrath of Fox Nation, a blog which is renowned for his commitment to tolerance. And once again, Fox is reinforcing the whines of "Christian" victimhood and making Tebow, if not actually a god, a martyr to the cause of persecuted "Christians" and as Jon Stewart wisely said, "conservative victimization is the true genius of what Fox News has accomplished."

Maher recently tweeted two photos of himself "Tebowing" (doing the very public prayer position of Tim Tebow) in a tree. He accompanied one of the photos with his "treebowing" happy new year message to his twitter followers. As you know, Maher's infamous New Years Eve tweet became the fodder for lots of Fox agita including good Christian Eric Bolling's (Jesuit high school) exhortation that atheist Maher should go "straight to hell"- which is rather odd considering that atheists don't believe in hell. Despite Jesus' teachings about loving one's enemy, much of the "Christian" reaction was of the "he-wouldn't-do-this-to-Muslims" variety which is bullshit considering that Maher frequently makes scathing comments about Islam. And now, Fox has even more ammunition for its war on Bill Maher

So I'm sure Jesus would be so proud of the comments on the "Pig Maher In A Tree" thread which contain wishes that Maher fall out of the tree and become paralyzed for life.

Praise the lord and Tim Tebow - who is God, on Fox News and Fox Nation.

BTW, this Maher tweet is so on target given Fox News' ongoing "outrage" about the bogus persecution of Tim Tebow and Fox News' vilification of those who "mock" him. Maher's comment about brainwashing is so appropriate for Fox News which is on constant spin cycle!

"Overreaction fr biblethumpers re my Tebow tweet reminds me of North Koreans wailing at the Kim Jung-il funeral: Brainwashing is brainwashing,"

Some readers might find this interesting:

The Tea Party and Catholic Social Teaching Don’t Mix
http://www.uscatholic.org/teaparty

Some excerpts: - Catholics are encouraged to put moral principles before partisanship, and the U.S. bishops’ document “Forming Consciences for Faithful Citizenship” has emphasized a broad range of issues for Catholics to consider before voting. The bishops warn against efforts “to reduce Catholic moral concerns to one or two matters, or to justify choices simply to advance partisan, ideological or personal interests.”

- Catholic Democrats, Republicans and Tea Partiers will all find aspects of Church teaching that challenge their political views in discomforting ways. However, the Tea Party’s anti-government rhetoric and emphasis on individualism chafes against Catholic notions of solidarity and a vision for economic justice that seeks to balance personal rights with social responsibilities.

- The principles of just taxation encouraged by the Catholic social tradition are rooted in a positive vision for government and a healthy skepticism of unbridled markets. The radical individualism and anti-government ideology espoused by the Tea Party simply don’t fit with Catholic communitarian values and Gospel commands to care for our neighbors, especially the poor and vulnerable.

- Church officials are unlikely to show up at a rally any time soon, but if they do, it’s safe to say you’re more likely to find Pope Benedict XVI standing in solidarity with Occupy Wall Street protestors than Tea Party activists.

The attempt by Fox GOP TV to woo Catholics may be in part a response to the difficulty many Catholics have with the libertarian, “I’ve-got-mine” individualism of the Republican party. Traditional Roman Catholicism places a high value on community and social justice, which are anathema to the values of unregulated (except in their favor) capitalism promoted by Fox News on behalf of the Republicans.

Also, Irish-American Catholics were traditionally Democratic voters, and Latinos are overwhelmingly Catholic. These are both huge demographics.

Just a thought.

Paul Gould: I think along with being a Republican propaganda machine, Fox is also, perhaps equally, an RC propaganda machine—trying to make Catholicism acceptable to Evangelicals. By promoting the fantasy of anti-Christian bias, Fox binds all Christians into a whole with common enemies in Islam and other non-Christians. The majority of ’anchor-commentators" on air at Fox are Catholics, as well, their only regular religious commenter is a priest. Does Newshounds have a list of all the Catholic voices at Fox?

Jesus was not divine. The mythology craps demeans wisdom, choice to do good, intelligence, and the real Jesus. Organized trinitarian Christianity, orthodox, fundamental, mainstream, etc., is based on superstition, and it is not related to Jesus actual beliefs and human interaction on Earth. False religion. Religion isn’t needed. We have ourselves and our minds.

Oh, for Tim’s sake- do these idiots have any Tebowedamn control?! It’s bad enough that they took this farce so far that they made it fun to substitute “God” with variations of his name, but they’re threatening people who point out their level of fanaticism as well?!

That’d be like… oh my Tebow, every example I can think of has actually happened. That’s kinda disturbing.

Maher is just tweaking the christian morons…..he’ll probably get enough material for another book.
I just love how they always assume that we laugh at their heroes because we’re afraid of them when they’re the ones that are driven by fear every day……by the GOP.
