Tucker Carlson thinks there’s just not enough appreciation in the world for older white guys. And he’s ready to change that.
Carlson was part of a Republican pep rally on Fox & Friends this morning. Republican guest Dana Perino acknowledged that Republicans “have a lot of work to do” to expand their base. But, she said, the naysayers are “missing all the good stuff.” She praised college Republicans who have expanded the younger GOP vote. She didn’t mention if these younger Republicans had expanded the diversity of the party. However, she did say they “deserve a little credit” for having given up “their entire summers to help older white guys get re-elected.”
Co-host Carlson chimed in: “We need, I think, an older white guy appreciation day. I think they’ve done a lot for this country.”
As if they are under appreciated as it is.
“Penicillin! That’s a contribution!” Carlson exclaimed.
Co-host (and birther) Heather Childers laughed. Perino said, “It’s coming.” She told Carlson, “You can start it. Think of the Hallmark cards!”
But Carlson was in earnest. “I want to do that. Draft me, I’ll host it.”
Co-host Clayton Morris gave his thumbs up by citing Thomas Edison as another older white guy, presumably under appreciated.
Carlson, the very embodiment of white privilege, has a long history of painting whites as racial victims.
